Re: Saints sign James Laurinaitis
Any time you can get a good character guy with veteran experience it is not a bad thing. I hope the money is right, but that would be my only concern. This guy will demand effort from everyone else and I think he will be a solid player for a year for us.

Re: Saints sign James Laurinaitis
At one time hearing of this signing would have made me piddle down my leg, now although excited to a lesser degree, expectations are tempered. Will have to wait and see. If anything, the recent signings will do one thing, create a competitive atmosphere day in and day out. The older cats and the younger cats, it will be fun to watch

Re: Saints sign James Laurinaitis
good signing I think again like said before locker room and field presence for accountability; as for the money its going to cost us is not relevant, all this cap this and cap that will be done with when 2017 rolls around.

Re: Saints sign James Laurinaitis
I was really high on Laurinaitis coming out of college but its hard to tell what he has left in the tank. He is 29 and that is no real age so I hope he feels discareded and will be out to show everybody, kinda like when we got Vilma.

Re: Saints sign James Laurinaitis
Anthony showed me a lot last year but he struggled w/ discipline and command of the defense. Laurinaitis will come help the young fellow along and stabilize our defensive core. Great move to me

Re: Saints sign James Laurinaitis
FYI... Laurinaitus played most of last year with a pretty bad elbow injury.
His run defense grades were the worst of his career. Lets hope he heals up and gets back to his pre-2015 form. If so, its a great signing. |

I just worry that Anthony might be less effective playing another position. You know we have a penchant for the square peg-round hole scenario. Actually, the theory that we can just move a player and make it work hasn't paid off that well. Cam Jordan has played well wherever we put him but he's the exception more than the rule. If we are going to draft someone to play a position then do it! |
Re: Saints sign James Laurinaitis
I don't trust any player with a last name that I have to google to learn how to spell. But we shall see...
