BnGer's Scouting Reports
Here is our imaginary B&G draft class. I'm going to post some scouting reports. It should be fun, if everyone can play nice.
BnB Defensive End Hight: 6'3" Weight: 289 lbs Speed: 4.96/40 Upside: High motor guy with a serious mean streak. Plays with good leverage. Ferocious hitter. Once ate a guy's liver. Good upper body strength, and serious about the weights. Played RB in High School. Downside: Needs to work on his second move (the first one is usually understated). Financial issues in College. Once ate a guy's liver? Disappears for weeks on end ;) , but always shows up for the big game. Gumbo Wide Receiver/Flanker Height: 6'0" Weight: 181 lbs Speed: 4.41/40 Upside: Aggressive as all get out to the ball. Can make the one hander at the back of the end zone. Studies tape well and learns on his own. Good energy and practice habits. Good agility allows him to manoever easily past defenders. Downside: Has been known to say silly things at press confrences. On field antics can get him in trouble. His route running is sometimes a bit sloppy and his speed isn't first rate. Sometimes he can rub coaches the wrong way, and sometimes has trouble with authority figures. Needs to work on foot speed. Danno Middle Linebacker Height: 6'3" Weight: 243 lbs Speed: 4.73/40 Upside: This guy can stun you. Clogs the middle well. Good on field manager - knows his teammates strengths and weaknesses (and 40s times). Uses his hands to shed blockers and has good strength at the point of attack. Rarely overcommits to outside runs. Downside: Worries too much about what the offense is doing when he's off the field (apparently this can be demoralizing for him). Speed is questionable in the passing game. Interior blitzing is not his area of expertise. WhoDat Tight End Height: 6'4" Weight: 232 Speed: 4.61/40 Upside: Strong in line blocking skills. Savvy player who is versatile in both the running and passing games. Is atheletic enough to make grabs on under and over thrown passes - good since our QB likes those kind of throws. Shows strength of character and good leadership skills. Someone said he has some intangibles, but I don't know what those are. Downside: Lacks speed to get open deep. Coming of serious ankle injury that has kept him out for several months. Requires a personal trainer to keep him going in the offseason, but strong work ethic during the season tends to compensate. There is some story going around about a sheep? Whodi Running Back Height: 5'9" Weight: 188 lbs Speed: 4.48/40 Upside: Shows game breaking speed. Can make some catches. High motor and good energy guy. Vocal leader on the sidelines and in the huddle. Tornado like running style can be difficult for defenses to guage. Work out hero. Downside: One coach has labeled him a "locker room cancer", but second chances are his thing. Sometimes carries the ball with one hand to make plays, instead of tucking in. Cut back ability questionable. Halo Coach/Former QB (mostly back up role though) Upside: Super hero like work ethic. As a former player, he brings good knowledge and understanding to the team. Maintains blance and order in his locker room. Knows when a guy needs a second chance or a firm talking to. Good judge of talent. Downside: None. Well my souts are both slow an inept, so I'm sure that many future reports will correct errors and add insight. Perhaps the new classes will show as much promise as some of our current stars. Other Vetran reports to follow. ;) |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
That\'s pretty funny Kool. Nice work. But can you make my speed 4.41 instead? ;)
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
My scouts weren\'t impressed by your 40 time out of High School Whodi. You were young then. ;)
I\'ll grant that we may have tinkered with the watch on that last heat... |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Man... looks like the only way for me to make the team is as a FA.
Euphoria CB/KR/PR Syracuse University Height: 5\'6\" Weight: 170 lbs Speed: 4.38/40 Upside: Shows game breaking speed. Exceptional closing speed. Great instincts for the ball. Downside: Show boat. Leon-isk player. |

BnGer's Scouting Reports
Additional Notes on Euph:
Upside: Fixes on the ball well. Verstatility adds an extra dimension. Good ball handling skills (man I just wanted to write that). Outstanding footspeed. A fine spin move. Downside: While he has game changing ability in the return game, he sometimes makes poor decisions with respect to fair catch versus return. Is sometimes overly enthusiastic on the sideline. Once got a penalty for picking up a flag and throwing it back at the ref. |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Pretty funny, and true too! ;)
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
JKOOL... dude do you know me or what... LOL. I got the same critism in high school for sideline antics... lol.
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Ah 08. You know I meant \"scout.\"
Saints08 Front Office/Former WR (possible Hall of Famer) Height: 5\'11\" Weight: 178 lbs Speed: 4.38/40 Upside: The prettiest spin move you\'ve ever seen. Locks down and protects the ball well. Good sideline awareness. Athletic performer in the running game. Runs solid routes. Picks up on players intangibles quite well. Downside: Doesn\'t take coaching seriously. Workout schedule has been slipping a little. Ability to sell just about any player to the media... isn\'t that an upside? |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
I feel so left out...
BaronM Position:outside Linebacker/safety Height: 6\'2 weight: 225 speed: (actually, I\'ll let you do the rest) [Edited on 1/3/2005 by baronm] |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Welcome to a rather large crowd Baronm. :)
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Baron
Upside: Plays the toughest of the LB positions at WLB ;) . Terse, controlled play allows him to conserve energy for the big hit. Has a good feel for the coverage cushion. Solid mechanics. Downside: Over commits to the sideline on occasion. Really wants to play MLB and is jealous of the inside position. Has a penchant for late hits on the QB. [Edited on 1/3/2005 by JKool] |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
JoeSam
Free Safety Height: 6\'1\" Weight: 204 lbs Speed: 4.57/40 Upside: Solid tackling at the last line of defense. Sees the feild very well and makes good adjustments. Plays like a vetran and can really rally the secondary. Noted for the hit that made Michael Irvin retire... that pu**y. Excellent stregth at the point of attack. Downside: Can get agitated by trash talkin\' WRs. Sometimes tries to lay the wood instead of wrapping up ;) . Occassionally wants to play RB too - this can be irritating to coaches. Once got in a fight on the plane with star WR, Gumbo - it is still unclear what that was about. |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
gatorman
Center Height: 6\'7\" Weight: 320 Upside: Leader of the O-line. Road grader who is also strong on passing downs. Perfected the art of nasty play in the trenches, which coaches love, and D-lineman despise. Has been known to litigate with opposing linemen to the point of insanity. Downside: Has trouble getting to the next level on long yardage runs. Has a temper that has gotten him into more trouble than any other person on the team. Once ripped a defensive end\'s eyeball from it\'s socket during a game. And like JoeSam, had an altercation with GumboBC in the locker room after a game. |

BnGer's Scouting Reports
dberce
Downside: misuse of the player hot/cold tubs on the weekends. Is a constant distraction what with all the women in the locker room. Upside: knows a good thing when he sees it. Good with player morale. Designed the team\'s new uniforms. |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Great idea Kool. this is too funny. I am gonna have Euph talk to that stop watch guy though. :P
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
too funny
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
I would like to note for the record that the rumor about sheep is completely unfounded. This was started by a certain WR who will remain nameless after I criticized the QB for poor throws. This WR started the rumor to discredit me. BnB and I stuffed him in a locker.

Papz, Owner.
5\'9 165lbs Speed 4.52/40 Upside: Willing to spend money to obtain the best players and coaches on the market. This Asian genious who graduated from Harvard with a Masters in Sex Education. As soon as he graduated, he hit the powerball and bought the Saints, aka the Yankees of the South. Downside: Papz sometimes may overspend to get his man/woman *cough* Sometimes he may get a little too intoxicated in the press box, and tends to pee in the same corner over and over. With the constant abuse of urinating, it sometimes produce an enchanting odor in the Dome which causes players and fans to pass out. P.S. The mushrooms that you have on your burgers, guess where they came from. :o :exclam: |

xan
6\'2\" 195, 4.87, QB coach/Former Ivy League 1st team and NFL clipboard holder Cannon arm, good decision maker, but needed too much time in the pocket. Slow 1st step usually eluded 1st attacking lineman, but not second. Desire to throw deep on every play caused WR revolt on 7 different teams. Playing career ended when audibled double reverse on 4th and goal resulted in severe brain cramp. Insights into play construction and playcalling keep him in the league. Entirely too quiet in the locker room, but can\'t resist piling on in a rout. Has a tendency to get too big picture, lose focus of down and distance. Suspended 4 games for way too frequent deposits at the local fertility clinic. Anal retentive and argumentative with coaching staff. Facts spewn out during interviews have resulted in causing \"xan syndrome\" to listeners, usually identified with dumbfounded, drooling glaze and a time gap. |

Mutineer10
Waterboy Height: 6\'0, Weight: 185, Speed: Not since college Upside: Cheap. Works for beer in lieu of money. Downside: Distracting sideline demeanor, tries to tell players/coaches what to do instead of simply providing water. History of substance abuse. Once (in a drunken stupor) stole coach Haslett\'s headset and instructed Aaron Brooks to lateral the ball to Wayne Gandy. Suspected of substituting the defense\'s water with vodka the first 12 games of the 2004 season. Also suspected of spiking drinks to incite fights on planes. |

Saintfan
Full Back Height: 6\' Weight: 234 lbs Speed: 4.71/40 Upside: Punishing blocker and good in line blocker. Iron head. Gets to the second level and punishes smaller ILBs. Decent hands and eyes out of the backfield. Downside: Iron head? Needs better footwork in the pass blocking. Occasionally overshifts to cover the blitz. Saints_LB LB/Special Teams Ace Height: 6\'2\" Weight: 241 lbs Speed: 4.59/40 Upside: Can play both weak and strong side. Tracks the ball well. Decent stack and shed ability. Plays like a maniac on the coverage teams, and is a solid blocker in the return game. Good tackling mechanic. Trash talks in an understated and sarchastic manner. Downside: Smiles on the sideline after the offense is forced to punt. Generally despises players whose positon is only a quarter back (of course, this improves his blitzing skills). Can disappear at times. Scotty Quarterback Height: 6\'4\" Weight: 221 lbs Speed: 5.01/40 Upside: Strong arm and big frame. Reads defenses pretty well, and possesses good read/progression ability. He is the thinking man\'s QB. Has some intangibles (whatever that means). Downside: Locks in on his man at times. Sometimes overthinks the play. Periodically audibles to his own number. Sold WhoDat the sheep. Pressure situations can get him riled. SFIAH Cornerback Height: 5\'10\" Weight: 200 lbs Speed: 4.40/40 Upside: Is a ball hawk. Good read and react skills. Plays strong against the run. Can really lay the lumber. Breaks well on the ball and plays it well at its highest point. Downside: Lives in the wrong state. Is in the coaches\' dog house for partying with papz. Should be more vocal given his experience. This is still kind of making me laugh. [Edited on 2/3/2005 by JKool] |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
It\'s definitely making me laugh. And after Euph talked to the stopwatch guy for me, my time was actually 4.39 so ha!! :P
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Don\'t sell yourself short. He told me it said 3.9! Are you saying he\'s lying?
This just in: Euph suspended for pulling a knife on the water boy during practice... something about his water tasting like booze? |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
LKelley
Outside Linbacker Height: 6\'3\" Weight: 257 lbs Speed: 4.65/40 Upside: Plays strong at the point of attack. Good understanding of the position. Strong leadership skills; team player. Is a student of the game. Very instinctive and productive player. Well suited to bang and smash on the Strong side. Solid tackling mechanic. Downside: Can get mismatched against opposing teams speedier RBs. Farts dust. Is a fan of the half-time speech. Lower body strength could be better. Scouting Update: Whodi, RB, has been linked to abnormal behavior in College... something about frats and twins? Stock rising, then falling, then rising, then falling... Also, there was something about a sheep that has been going around... |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
again with the sheep.....that sheep gets around more than paris hilton.
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Yeah, the way you guys passed her around, it makes \'Paris or the sheep\' a tough call. :o I heard she was seeing that waterboy from the Ravens!?

BMG
Front Office/Former OT (possible hall of famer) Height: 6\'7\" Weight: 298 lbs Speed: 5.12/40 Upside: Brilliant capologist and deal maker. Powerful run blocker; this guy was a mauler. Strong work ethic and diligence to detail. Avoided the sheep and doesn\'t frequent sites called \"pantherlove\". Holds team bench press record. Downside: Totally MIA (and right at the start of FA too). EDIT: Mutey, you wish you had a ten foot pole... and so does Paris. [Edited on 3/3/2005 by JKool] |

4DSaints
Trainer/Former MLB Trainer Height: 6\'0 Weight: 205 lbs. Speed: When available Upside: Has a knack for innovative weight lifting techniques that always boosts strength and muscle girth. Constantly on cell phone arranging special workout sessions for players with \'specialist\' in L.A. Has excellent legal counsel. \"Don\'t want this guy inside your head.\" - Hannibal Lector Downside:Looks somewhat like the \"Church Lady\" and usually has low tolerance for ignorant reporters who keep asking the same questions over and over. Not always willing to be a team player and often misunderstood. [Edited on 3/3/2005 by 4DSaints] |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
whoah, i made the grade LOL. sometimes interupts and takes over halftime tirades. ladies say lower body is his strength, hehe.
|
BnGer's Scouting Reports
Scouting Update:
Saints4D - Actually advised star DE, BnB, to eat more livers! LKelley - Twice insisted that we trade Scotty for a puck bag and a team bus. Scotty - Threatened to hold out if the rumors about the sheep wouldn\'t stop! Rising Stock: Tobias-R and LOE. Look for these guys to make a splash this year! |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
You know, you sell a guy a sheep and for some reason your rep takes a hit. She\'s a great sheep on an average forum. What\'s the prob?
I will be holding out but not cuz of the sheep rumors. Halo refuses to pay his QBs anything. I want top 3 poster money or I\'m moving to saints revolution. |
BnGer's Scouting Reports
I heard that the sheep fumbles on the goal line and selfishly tries to lose in the first quarter so she can put up great numbers in the second half... she was also in a locker with Billy...
