BnGer's Scouting Reports
Here is our imaginary B&G draft class. I'm going to post some scouting reports. It should be fun, if everyone can play nice.
BnB Defensive End Hight: 6'3" Weight: 289 lbs Speed: 4.96/40 Upside: High motor guy with a serious mean streak. Plays with good leverage. Ferocious hitter. Once ate a guy's liver. Good upper body strength, and serious about the weights. Played RB in High School. Downside: Needs to work on his second move (the first one is usually understated). Financial issues in College. Once ate a guy's liver? Disappears for weeks on end ;) , but always shows up for the big game. Gumbo Wide Receiver/Flanker Height: 6'0" Weight: 181 lbs Speed: 4.41/40 Upside: Aggressive as all get out to the ball. Can make the one hander at the back of the end zone. Studies tape well and learns on his own. Good energy and practice habits. Good agility allows him to manoever easily past defenders. Downside: Has been known to say silly things at press confrences. On field antics can get him in trouble. His route running is sometimes a bit sloppy and his speed isn't first rate. Sometimes he can rub coaches the wrong way, and sometimes has trouble with authority figures. Needs to work on foot speed. Danno Middle Linebacker Height: 6'3" Weight: 243 lbs Speed: 4.73/40 Upside: This guy can stun you. Clogs the middle well. Good on field manager - knows his teammates strengths and weaknesses (and 40s times). Uses his hands to shed blockers and has good strength at the point of attack. Rarely overcommits to outside runs. Downside: Worries too much about what the offense is doing when he's off the field (apparently this can be demoralizing for him). Speed is questionable in the passing game. Interior blitzing is not his area of expertise. WhoDat Tight End Height: 6'4" Weight: 232 Speed: 4.61/40 Upside: Strong in line blocking skills. Savvy player who is versatile in both the running and passing games. Is atheletic enough to make grabs on under and over thrown passes - good since our QB likes those kind of throws. Shows strength of character and good leadership skills. Someone said he has some intangibles, but I don't know what those are. Downside: Lacks speed to get open deep. Coming of serious ankle injury that has kept him out for several months. Requires a personal trainer to keep him going in the offseason, but strong work ethic during the season tends to compensate. There is some story going around about a sheep? Whodi Running Back Height: 5'9" Weight: 188 lbs Speed: 4.48/40 Upside: Shows game breaking speed. Can make some catches. High motor and good energy guy. Vocal leader on the sidelines and in the huddle. Tornado like running style can be difficult for defenses to guage. Work out hero. Downside: One coach has labeled him a "locker room cancer", but second chances are his thing. Sometimes carries the ball with one hand to make plays, instead of tucking in. Cut back ability questionable. Halo Coach/Former QB (mostly back up role though) Upside: Super hero like work ethic. As a former player, he brings good knowledge and understanding to the team. Maintains blance and order in his locker room. Knows when a guy needs a second chance or a firm talking to. Good judge of talent. Downside: None. Well my souts are both slow an inept, so I'm sure that many future reports will correct errors and add insight. Perhaps the new classes will show as much promise as some of our current stars. Other Vetran reports to follow. ;) |

That\'s pretty funny Kool. Nice work. But can you make my speed 4.41 instead?

My scouts weren\'t impressed by your 40 time out of High School Whodi. You were young then.
I\'ll grant that we may have tinkered with the watch on that last heat... |

Man... looks like the only way for me to make the team is as a FA.
Euphoria CB/KR/PR Syracuse University Height: 5\'6\" Weight: 170 lbs Speed: 4.38/40 Upside: Shows game breaking speed. Exceptional closing speed. Great instincts for the ball. Downside: Show boat. Leon-isk player. |

Additional Notes on Euph:
Upside: Fixes on the ball well. Verstatility adds an extra dimension. Good ball handling skills (man I just wanted to write that). Outstanding footspeed. A fine spin move. Downside: While he has game changing ability in the return game, he sometimes makes poor decisions with respect to fair catch versus return. Is sometimes overly enthusiastic on the sideline. Once got a penalty for picking up a flag and throwing it back at the ref. |

Ah 08. You know I meant \"scout.\"
Saints08 Front Office/Former WR (possible Hall of Famer) Height: 5\'11\" Weight: 178 lbs Speed: 4.38/40 Upside: The prettiest spin move you\'ve ever seen. Locks down and protects the ball well. Good sideline awareness. Athletic performer in the running game. Runs solid routes. Picks up on players intangibles quite well. Downside: Doesn\'t take coaching seriously. Workout schedule has been slipping a little. Ability to sell just about any player to the media... isn\'t that an upside? |
