New Orleans Saints to meet with running back Tim Hightower, source says

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; the Jets signed him but that injury could be really hard to come back from. I would rather take my chances with HIghtower at this point. He was the best back on the field last year when called upon....

As long as we aren't counting on Cadet we should be alright.

I do hope though that we re-sign Hightower. He is a tough runner and held up well for us last year, he's also a feel good story.

Ingram, Spiller, Hightower and Cadet gives us an above average backfield

Payton had no faith in Spiller later in the season putting Cadet in his role.

Hightower was outperforming bith of them
A good boost when Khiry went down

From what I understand it wasn't so much faith as Spiller not being healthy.

Can't compare Hightower to those two, they get completely different plays to run. With that said, I'd love for us to have Hightower back.

I think the issue was in between his ears and the ghost of the injury. Maybe this year he will trust in the repairs. we shall see. like Byrd we are stuck with him for a while.
