Recap Saints First 3 Picks
Sheldon Rankins - McShay and Kiper had him as the #1 DT (considered Buckner a DE). Mayock had him as the #2 interior DL, had Buckner as #1. And was considered a top 20 lock, potnetially top 10. And he's a player that is arguably the most disruptive interior DL in the draft and is a a 3 down DL with the ability to collapse the pocket and get after the QB from the middle, a trait very few DTs had in this draft.
Michael Thomas - All 3 of McShay, Kiper, and Mayock had him as the #5 ranked WR. And was considered a late 1st / early 2nd RD player whose skillset transitions very well to the NFL. And it was reported that the NFL people like Thomas way more than the media does and will be a better NFL WR than college. 1 analyst considered him a top 10 talent for teams that need a WR and has him as the 4th safest pick in the entire draft.
Vonn Bell - All 3 of McShay, Kiper, and Mayock had him as the #2 ranked Safety in the draft. And was considered a late 1st/ early 2nd RD player who excels in pass coverage and has the ability to man up WRs, slots, RBs, etc. He's a Safety that possesses CB like cover skills and was considered to be 1 of the best defensive playmakers in the entire draft.
