Re: Does Sean hates LSU
Kwon Alexander ... could have been a solid special team contributor in Black and Gold. Good player down in Baton Rouge. Thought he was worth a look.
What do I know. |

Re: Does Sean hates LSU
We took Kenny Vaccarro when Eric Reid was available. Vaccarro 6 ft 4.6 40. Reid 6 ft 2
4.4 40. Sean likes Midwest to California region dudes. I bet Jalen Mills ends up better than our Ohio State FS. We rarely pick any SEC players. Im glad we signed the DB from Ole Miss and A&M. Especially the Ile Miss FS. |
Re: Does Sean hates LSU
Funny..I just googled if the Saints ever drafted anyone from LSU and found this which was just recently posted:
Saints have been in the mix to draft LSU players, but timing hasn't worked out lately Don't be fooled by the closed pipeline from LSU to the New Orleans Saints these days. The Saints have historically drafted eight LSU players since 1970, but none since Al Woods in 2010. That's only behind the Giants (11), Chargers (10), Falcons (10), Cardinals (10) and Broncos (9), in that same time frame. Woods, a fourth round draft pick, didn't last long in New Orleans. But he's doing OK for himself, re-signing with the Titans this week on a three-year, $10.5 million deal. However, the Saints haven't drafted an LSU player since Woods, and they haven't taken many LSU players in the last 10 drafts. That honor goes to the Cardinals, who have taken five LSU players since 2008. The Bengals, Texans, Chargers and Niners have each taken four. But even with the lack of players moving from Baton Rouge to New Orleans these days, the Saints say they like them just fine. "We'd love to have some LSU players on our team," said general manager Mickey Loomis. Why they haven't gotten any has likely been a matter of circumstance. read the rest:Saints have been in the mix to draft LSU players, but timing hasn't worked out lately | NOLA.com So..in 46 years, we have drafted 8 players from LSU..LMFAO and the title has nerve to say "lately". |
Re: Does Sean hates LSU
What killed me in 2014 was CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste instead of LSU WR Jarvis Landry.
Winning requires drafting PROVEN PLAY MAKERS with MAJOR TEAMS with NO INJURY HISTORY! This is the only way to draft in the first 3 rounds!!! NO FREAKING PROJECTS.... NONE!!! And No Stupid Buckwheats Either!!! https://pmcdeadline2.files.wordpress...6&h=299&crop=1 |
Re: Does Sean hates LSU
I was saying all alone that payton just don't care to draft lsu players, there have been just to many get away that it was a no brainer but pases oh well to each his own, if for some reason and I pray not to happen is leonard fornette falls to us and payton will pass for a starting guard. rite call wrong year

Re: Does Sean hates LSU
Well it's just how things are. Maybe he just hasn't had the one he wants when the one is available. Regardless, I doubt he's just avoiding LSU players.

Arizona Cardinals don't seem to have a problem with LSU players or Les Miles for that matter.

Re: Does Sean hates LSU
The good ol' boy network is long gone. BPA regardless of school ties. Until proven otherwise, we now have a decent group of scouts and someone who knows what he's doing to run them. Just because a large group of Who Dats watched them a lot, it doesn't make them the best players out there.

Re: Does Sean hates LSU
He drafted DL Al Woods and then cut him. He's still playing somewhere...?!?!?! We don't need DLinemen, right?
|
Re: Does Sean hates LSU
Taking Baptiste over Landry was a BPA option????
Yes, a large number of WHODATS watch the TIGERS. In most cases, it's LSU 1st, Saints 2nd. I will admit, I fall into that crowd. Anyway, SP and Mickey have passed on some really good talent. Yes, there are bust players that come out of LSU, but not many. I still don't like the fact that we passed on Tunsil. O-Line woes have been preached about and preached about here and we let the best Tackle pass. That's JMO. We let too many Good LSU products pass by to other teams. I'm sorry, but SEC players are more physically capable to start in the NFL, then any other conference. |

Don't forget the little known "Gone but not forgotten" clause John Mecom put in about drafting local talent. It's in the same section that stated all of Rich Mauti's kids had to be signed!

Re: Does Sean hates LSU
There doesn't have to be some great conspiracy to admit that it's extremely odd how little the Saints ever go after LSU players. I don't want them to take players just because they are local. But when you have a program that puts out that many NFL players, and is right in your back yard where you can easily scout them, it's hard to believe that timing is the only factor.
It's just weird. They don't go after enough SEC players, in general. I don't have any numbers in front of me, but it seems like SEC players have a very high rate of success compared to most, if not all other conferences. |

Re: Does Sean hates LSU
Now wait... there are 351 Division I colleges, 317 Division II and 455 Division III colleges. Now of those 1123 fine institutions of higher learning, only 55 are represented on the current Saints roster as well as a couple who have no apparent alumnus status with any of them. Now to further math up the subject, there are currently only 43 LSU alumni on NFL rosters. Are we needing some type of Goodellism making certain every college is represented on every team?

It is highly unusual for players from such a high profile program, to have almost zero presence in the ENTIRE HISTORY of the Saints. If you don't recognize the significance of that, then I guess there's no point in explaining it any further. |

Re: Does Sean hates LSU
Born in Thibodaux, Louisiana...Mom's born Key West, Florida, raised in Gulfport, Mississippi...Dad's born, raised in Gladewater, Texas, until he moved and attended high school in Lake Charles, LA...
I'm a homer, SEC proud, pull for State until a stronger SEC looks like they've got a title shot, then I get behind them (pretty much hate on the rest of the country kinda thing giving some love to Texas, Clemson, GA Tech, VMI and Military Academies (except Air Force))... But I could give a rat's arse whether the Saints draft someone from State; in fact, I've only wanted the Saints to draft from LSU two times in the last ten~fifteen years; once, with Glenn Dorsey (fmr Chiefs GM Carl Peterson, can go f*ck himself) and when La'el Collins fell in the draft last season, wanted the Saints to take him or Ali Marpet in the second round... Knew we had no shot with Beckham and wasn't butt-hurt over it; remember drafting Al Woods and the MFer showed up outta shape and was rightly cut; Honey-Badger, happy, neaux, thrilled he got his act together and proud of how he's getting it done like he should get it done, but he was more of a risk than I wanted the Saints to take (in fact, it probably worked our for him because he went to the Cardinal and played with Peterson)... Neaux, I don't get the butt-hurt for having no LSU players on the roster, not one bit... |
