Greenwood signs five-year, $22.5 million deal
By Len Pasquarelli, ESPN.com In a move that signals at least a minor remaking of their linebacker corps, the Houston Texans on Thursday afternoon signed unrestricted free agent Morlon Greenwood of the Miami Dolphins to a five-year contract, ESPN.com has learned. The contract is worth $22.5 million and includes a $7 million signing bonus. Greenwood will earn salaries of $540,000 (for 2005), $2.56 million (2006), $3.4 million (2007), $4 million (2008) and $5 million (2009). Those salaries include $100,000 workout bonuses for some seasons link There's no way in hell he's worth that much money. These linebackers are very expensive. ;) [Edited on 3/3/2005 by GumboBC] |

WOW! For an undersized LB who gets engulfed versus the run?
Imagine what Hartwell and Bell are gonna get. Yikes. Looks like we won\'t be getting a LB in free-agency boys. |

My bad. I must have been sleepin\' or something...
I\'ll tell ya what ... I\'d rather go into the season with Courtney Watson and Bockwoldt than pay that much money for someone like Greenwood. I think we\'ll address our offensive line and our saftey postion. But, I want a LB just as bad as the rest of ya!! Who\'s left? |

Noone we can afford. Looks like it\'s trade with TENN for a shot at DJ or bust. Although we could get a decent LB or two in the 2nd round. We may also be able to get Channing Crowder. Oh well, since this is how it\'s going, I will focus on T for free agency and hope we get Womack. And somehow trade Howard for Darius and a second(very unlikely).

Might be able to get Darius for a 2nd and trade Howard for someone else... That\'s a little optimistic but not out of the picture.. |

I wouldn\'t pay that much money for TWO Morlon Greenwoods. The guy must have one heck of an agent...
I\'m trying not to lose faith that we\'ll make at least one good pick-up. But if the Morlon Greenwoods of the league are going at that kind of rate, I\'d rather keep our young crop of LB\'s (hoping for the best) and spend the money elsewhere. We can\'t get no satisfaction... |

A lot of you guys are downgrading Colby... I promise you he will surprise even more people next year. You heard it hear first. Now James Allen is a different story... :P
