Jermane Mayberry is a very versatile player with bulk and size. However, his athleticism leaves something to be desired. He uses his hands well, will drive block consistently, and plays well in a limited area. In space, Mayberry struggles and has trouble with quick defensive tackles. Limited mobility is becoming increasingly evident as Mayberry has difficulties changing direction and getting out on the sweep or screen passes.

Saints are interested in him-as per FFMASTERMIND.com

-- Mayberry to Visit Saints --
Thu Mar 3, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com

The Philadelphia Daily News reports OG Jermane Mayberry (Eagles) will fly to New Orleans for a free-agent visit today, and will try to imagine life as a Saint. It won\'t be easy. Mayberry has been an Eagle his entire professional career, since being drafted in the first round in 1996 out of Texas A & M-Kingsville, where he played for Eagles offensive line coach Juan Castillo. Off the field, Mayberry has been deeply involved in the community, starting when he used $100,000 from his first pro contract to found the Eagles Eye Mobile program, which has provided vision testing and free glasses for thousands of Philadelphia-area children. \"I always thought that I\'d end my career here. It\'s really awkward,\" Mayberry said yesterday, his first day as an unrestricted free agent, the first day in nearly 9 years that he didn\'t consider himself an Eagle. The Eagles have told Mayberry and his agent, Jack Bechta, that they do not plan to bid for the 31-year-old guard, who made the Pro Bowl in 2002 and was an alternate this past season
This guy is a good player. Looks like Kendal Jacox goes to the bench. That is if we sign Mayberry. Now we need an offensive tackle...

Granted, it\'s not the highest on the list of needs. But, the inside of the line will be exceptional with Le\' Charles, Holland, and Mayberry. I want us to be as dominant on the offensive line as possible. And this is a good start.

there might be more to the master plan than we know. a three defensive end line... maybe a three guard O line. or move bentley back and go 4 guards, there\'s some thinking going on i can tell.

I know you\'re only joking, but as hard as it is for you to be positive about much, we would be aquiring a pro-bowl offensive guard. One that played on an exceptional Eagles offensive line and one who just played in a super bowl.

The guy is good!

If he isn\'t going to cost the earth then I can get behind a savvy veteran in the huddle. Truth be told our O-line was abysmal last year, those penalties killed more drives than you might imagine. Sure alot of them happened on first down :casstet: but it took the running game out of the equation. So I say get a veteran guard, but don\'t cry poor when it comes to finding an OT which is a higher priority.

Maybe I am the only one who saw this:

Mayberry struggles and has trouble with quick defensive tackles. Limited mobility is becoming increasingly evident as Mayberry has difficulties changing direction and getting out on the sweep or screen passes
That does not mean it is getting better, and he is an older player. He is Wayne Gandy on the inside of the line. Dumb move.
