New Orleans Saints projected to go 5-11 by Pro Football Focus
The New Orleans Saints are projected by Pro Football Focus to have their poorest season since before the team hired Sean Payton and signed Drew Brees.
The 5-11 mark projected by the scouting and analytics site would be worse than the 7-9 marks the Saints have tallied in three of the last four seasons. read more | |

Re: New Orleans Saints projected to go 5-11 by Pro Football Focus
Let me start by throwing the BS flag. .00009% chance of this happening. Now, if the .00009% chance happens, Drew will be shown the door. No way we pay a QB 20+ million a year to win 5 games. We would go into the Draft with GG as out qb and draft the beast LF7. Saints once again become a dominant running team as LF7 goes for 2K yards.

Re: New Orleans Saints projected to go 5-11 by Pro Football Focus
We went 7-9 with poor coaching and 7 rookies playing significant time on defense.
We upgraded every weakness, hired better coaches and had a very good draft. Anything can happen but I'd be surprised by 5-11. Major injuries would be the only way I see that happening, but that can happen to any team so that shouldn't be baked into their predictions. I think our floor is 8-8 with an 11-5 ceiling. |

Re: New Orleans Saints projected to go 5-11 by Pro Football Focus
Their reasoning...
A 37-year-old Brees is "bound to decline eventually." Their linebackers have graded poorly. Uhh, OK. I think we've upgraded every unit on defense. D-Line - Much Better ILB - Better but more importantly smarter. OLB's - Lots of ascending young talent CB's - Better Safeties - Same or better with a healthy Byrd and a hot shot Vonn Bell added to the mix. We lost 9 games, several of them in the last few seconds of the game due to defensive failures (Browner???), mostly communication breakdowns. I just can't see this team getting worse with all of the off-season additions. We'll play smarter and faster. |

AT the Worst we're 9-7. No way we got 7-9 for a third straight year and 5-11 is just preposterous!! Drew along is worth 6 games.

"bound to decline eventually" is true.
But I don't think it's gonna happen this season. |
