Is the new Season lost before it even begins?

Several questions swirl around the heads of Saints fans everywhere..

1. Exactly why are both Haslett and Venturi still employed in our Organization? Did we just forget to look for someone else?..or..Did we fail to have a ''Back up plan''?

We certainly had the ability to at least look for a potential candidate...but..nothing happened...We aren't in cap hell..we are about average..maybe a little better...so..what happened?

2. Are we going to even look like we are attempting to get some quality F.A.'s this year? One player refuses to call back...and they had noone else in mind?..are you kidding me?..Is that the biggest part of our action in the pool this year?...is this another failure in the making due to lack of a back up plan?

3. Howard.... Who's getting him, and for how much?.. The longer we wait around..the more and more people fill needs, and the value he has drops daily...Jacksonville just signed a new DE..and they were looking like the team we were going to trade with..No back up plan again?

WHAT THE HECK IS TAKING SO LONG?...Are we allready dead in the water? Teams are allready movin and groovin..making trades..signing players...and have been for weeks now...

What are they waiting for?..honestly...do you think it's L.A.?

Is Benson so busy packing his bags, He left the team on Idle ?

The ONLY reason they are back is because of the turnaround over the last 4 games. Not saying that was the right move, but I wouldn\'t overlook it either..

2. Are we going to even look like we are attempting to get some quality F.A.\'s this year? One player refuses to call back...and they had noone else in mind?..are you kidding me?..Is that the biggest part of our action in the pool this year?...is this another failure in the making due to lack of a back up plan?

No one refused to call us back. He decided to sign elsewhere and had his agent cancel all talks with every team.

3. Howard.... Who\'s getting him, and for how much?..

Don\'t know, but I\'d trade him for a Big Mac and fries right about now. I\'m hungry...

One can only wonder. But were not the only team.

Firing people means paying them and having to pay new people. It\'s pretty clear the Saints are in a holding pattern, driven by the pilot Fieldkow and the co-pilot Loomis at the behest of the owner. The owner wants to see if staying in Louisiana works out for a big payday (i.e. new stadium) or if the team needs to be moved or sold.

Frankly I don\'t think we know what\'s really going through their PHB minds. Looking for a veteran LB may not even be on the priority list.

A question: Since the Ricky draft day trade debacle back in the Ditka days, when have the Saints signed a big time FA? An impact player along the lines of Owens or Dillon?

ummmm.... NEVER?!!

So why would anyone think that this year is going to be any different?
