Saints get Mayberry
Didnt see anyone post the article and I am not sure as to how much he got but they will probably release it soon. Here it is form theredzone.org:
Saints Agree To 4 Year Deal With OT Mayberry The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with T Jermane Mayberry to a four-year contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis. The versatile Mayberry, considered one of the NFL’s most rugged run blockers, has started 96 games in his career, including stints at right tackle, right guard, left tackle and left guard. Mayberry, 6-foot-4, 325 pounds, was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2002. He has played for the Philadelphia Eagles since 1996, when he was the club’s first-round draft pick (25th overall) out of Texas A&I. He is entering his 10th season in 2005. I guess Gumbo really got his OL.
Word is that he might play RT when he has only started 4 games there in his career. Goodluck! Hopefully he won\'t be like Gandy and have some mileage in that tank of his. None the less we signed someone :exclam: Anyone with details on how much we spent for our first free agent!?! :multiplespotting: :soleil: :givebeer: |

From what I\'m hearing, the Saints are still trying to land RT Fred Miller and Mayberry would then start in place of Kendyl Jacox who plays guard.

We needed o-line help badly. You need quality players like this when you QB can\'t be trusted \"under preasure.\" Great signing. |

FYI
From Bucs news..... Mayberry spent part of Thursday and Friday visiting the Saints, who want to move him to tackle. The Bucs want to keep Mayberry at guard, his natural position. Also Friday, free-agent defensive back Dwight Smith visited with the Saints. http://bucs.tbo.com/bucs/MGBNKVU8X5E.html
