Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
We have 5 rookie WRs. 3 are 6'2 or better. One being Michael Thomas. I think the other two big WRs could be good as him actually. The third is a white dude who is slow, six feet tall and benched 225 27 times. He's the next Julian Edelman. Kidding. But wouldn't that rule? And one is 5"7 150 lbs. No shot. But I hope the little guy gets some preseason PT. Hell be fun to watch. Bolden is better than than all of em. He can help our rookies and would complete our offense perfectly. Right now, other than Ingram we lack a tough guy, vocal leader on offense. Bolden will block, break tackles, catch first downs and I'd bet lead us in all receiving categories. He had some huge games with Kaepernick. Brees would put him back in the Pro Bowl and the SuperBowl. I hope we get him. The question is of course how much?

That's the same mistake Mickey made last year at RB (Spiller) and CB (Browner)... We could've had a great Guard FA in Clint Boling (my choice), Evan Mathis or even Richie Incognito for either one of those salary slots, and it'd been better than the Jahri Evans mailing it in campaign... |
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
Im claiming the call on Incognito. I said after his first year out we should have taken him on tbe cheap then

The first thought is that we'll need the money in case of an injury, but there really isn't anybody left who is going to help anyway- if Strief gets hurt we re-shuffle and Lelito or Kelemete play more. If Fairley goes down Davison or Virgil are up. Good or bad, we have a logjam of backups, most of them cheap. The exception is at receiver, where we are either stacked or thin, depending on your optimism level. Is Thomas ready to play 60% of the snaps (or much more if there is an injury)? I don't know, but we have brought in Brown and Nicks, and looked at Boldin, so somebody important isn't sold yet. Hopefully we stay healthy, Snead is not a flash-in-the-pan, Thomas is ready, and Coleman develops. (insert Andy Tanner comment here) |
