Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
I'm usually not a fan of signing old WR's, but this might be the one guy in the game right now, at his age, who I'd take. If they were offering him ridiculous money to be a #1 or 2, I'd hate it, but as a 3 or 4 he can be very effective. He still gets open and has always had good hands.

Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
This dude is as tough as they come. I remember he got his face broken and played soon after.

Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
like him for a year

Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
I'm for it not only for the fact that he is a quality player and leader, but it might force the Brees extension to be finalized first.

Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
The guy has got vise grips for hands, he hardly ever gets a ball stripped out of his hands.

Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
*ahem*
;) |
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
Been dreaming of this for years. even now. I am not a huge fan of old vets but he is an exception. solid veteran that will step up during key moments. roll the dice and go for it.
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
sign that guy right now . . . #BALLER . . ..
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
Sign him, then Brees will sign.
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
Need some vet leadership. Do it. No leaders on our receiving corps. We can upgrade Colston and give those guys someone to lean on.
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
You sign that man!
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
The guy gives maximum effort on run-blocking and has great hands. Would be a nice signing.
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
One year at a time. We all know Boldin is not scared to go over the middle or anywhere to catch a ball. I agree he will give 110%
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
I agree, instant target for Drew.
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
I'm not against this signing, but I just wonder what that means for the young receivers who'll need all the snaps they can get in order to develop?!

Now Coleman is the odd man out in my opinion, First 4 WR's in terms of snap count for me is - Cooks, Anquan/Snead, Then Michael Thomas. |
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
And you really need to have depth at that position, since even one semi-serious injury will change the line-up they have at the moment drastically.
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
Coleman is in for a fight to crack the 53 roster even if we don't sign Boldin. He doesn't offer anything other than being a WR. No special teams work, can't be a gunner or returner & probably won't be used as a blocker.
Unless Brandon ties it all together at training camp & can produce consistently & make a profound impact, there are always other options for that roster spot. |
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
We need a vet at the WR position... I think he would help out our young WRs go for it ! who Dat
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
I like it! How long should we sign him for?
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
Wow, excellent hands, tough as nails, might have a year or 2 left, and IIRC he's a locker room enforcer type too.
|
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
Cooks, Sneed, M.Thomas, Boldin & Fleener! If Cj Spiller gets right, this could be a dangerous receiving core.

Isn't that how they sold us Browner last off-season?! |
Re: Saints Making Push to Sign Anquan Boldin
Rapoport may once again be absolutely full of **** when it comes to the Saints. When will we learn? |

I'd venture a guess that the odds of finding another Browner are much higher than finding another Sharper... the odds can't be even. http://www.quotehd.com/imagequotes/a...a-haystack.jpg |
