Tim Hightower favorite to back up Mark Ingram
The New Orleans Advocate confirms Tim Hightower "seems like the best bet" to open the season as Mark Ingram's primary backup.
Signed off the street just one month before Ingram's year-ending shoulder injury last season, Hightower emerged as the Saints' every-down back and was a hero in the fantasy playoffs. The Advocate's Nick Underhill says C.J. Spiller "needs to prove he can still be productive" after a lost first season in New Orleans. Underhill even suggests Spiller's roster spot may not be assured.
