Aside from Cam, Rankins might have been the most important player on D. We have some depth in most areas now. We do not have much depth on the line. If he is out for some time we need to sign/trade for someone.

Is K Williams still out there? He played well last year and could add depth.

WWL Saints Sideline reporter Kristian Garic says defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins got hurt during goal line drills. Rankins was taken from the field with an air cast on his left leg.

While losing Rankins is huge, at least Tyeler Davsion has been absolutely killing it in camp. We also have Fairley too.

Air cast isn't good, he's done for the season and potentially his career. Big men don't recover well from significant leg injuries. This team is so snake bit...

Could be worse. Probably 6-8 weeks to heal. It sucks but at least it isn't a tissue injury.

Eh, I don't think that's necessary. Broken bones actually heal stronger. If it were a tissue injury I would definitely agree, but in this case I'm not worried about it. An extra week or two to get back in shape and he should be fine.

Getting that leg strong,no risks.
If he danages it again it could be a career changer. Bite the bullet and let him get healthy. At least its only a fracture though and not a ligament

I like FA Corey Wooton or see if Kevin Williams is interested.

Assuming Fairley brings his A game (which he can), we should be ok. Loosing a promising rookie for 7 weeks or so won't make or break this team in 2016.
