I'm curious to hear your take on Jarrad Davis. I haven't looked at him too closely myself but I'm hearing lots of buzz about him being underrated. If we had a shot at him in the 2nd round I wonder if it would be worth passing on Foster in the 1st for a CB or DE.

I'll get to it sometime tomorrow. I have schoolwork now.

I love Jarrad Davis' game. has some similarities to Foster, but the biggest knock on him is health. He was injured a lot at Florida, but i'd absolutely select him in the 2nd round if we go DL or CB in the 1st. reminds me a little of Kwon Alexander.

I like foster but would rather a CB Marshon or that guy from Florida. I think we should alternate CB then DE throughout the draft

Yeah I am pretty sold on ILB Foster - I think we move up to 7 or 9 to snag him.

We had a shot at Deion Jones and Kwon Alexander and passed on both, they both had excellent rookie seasons and one is a major reason his team are in the super bowl.

Re: 2017 draft prospects thread

A CB in the 1st round? ... he better be Marcus Peters type talent and production coming out of college. I'd rather a pass rusher or LB (Beasley, Bosa, Leonard Williams, Shane Ray) at pick #11.

There is Cam, Rankins, Fairley, (UFA) and everyone else. This defense is in desperate need of play makers.

I keep coming back to this quote on Washington CB Sidney Jones from his NFL.com draft profile:

"I think he picked up all of (Marcus) Peters' good traits as a player without the personality defects. He marries that great FBI (football intelligence) with an explosive close-out and that will win in the pros just like it wins in college. You will always wish he was 198 pounds, but he won't be." -- NFC East regional scout

That's hard praise to ignore.

Jarrad Davis ILB/OLB Florida 6012 238 4.78 #40 Sr
good speed great intensity. great blitzer, sideline to sideline in the run game but struggles stack and shedding blocks resulting in over pursue and being a bit out of control at times. better suited in a 4-3. .He's powerful at the point of attack, projecting as a quality run-stuffing presence on the inside, but is also productive as a rusher and in coverage.

He is a system limited and the way the sainst jump from 34 to 43 worries me. DE and DT upgrades are needed to keep him clean.

What did you dig up Will?

couple of late rounders of possible interest
Langi Harvey ILB/SLB/FB BYU 6015 252 4.77 #21 rSr
Jimmy Gilbert WLB/ILB/ Colorado 6036 225 4.74 #98 Sr
Marquel Lee ILB/OLB Wake Forest 6026 240 4.76 #8 Sr
