Re: 2017 draft prospects thread

If we take a running back with the first pick it better be Leonard Fournette

Re: 2017 draft prospects thread

This year both McCaffrey and Fournette are playing with a bunch of new faces on the OL.

More importantly both have new/subpar QB also. both will be facing 8 in the box with teams out to stop them and daring the QB to beat them

This will be a great test for both.

So far after last year IMO Leonard Fournette seems to be more dependent on his OL than McCaffrey.

McCaffrey wins on versatility but I am sure Fournette could do more if Les let him.

If you did take Fournette cutting Spiller would be harder to do. I picked McCaffrey not only as a player but the cap relief his pick could offer. Spiller is cap bait next year.

Told you it's not pointless. I'm looking for depth first to be honest, then studs that can make things happen. SS will be on my list ,DE, O-line G and T and more than likely lb.

That's the point we are making. It doesn't matter what YOU are looking for. That is why it is TOTALLY pointless. YOU have absolutely no say in the matter. You can play the little pretend GM game all you want, but that is all it is. When it comes to the real world Saints it is completely pointless and meaningless. To believe that it is, or to represent it as anything more is naive.

And, the result of the exercise is the exact same every year. It, without fail, results in a draft time thread filled with angry admonishment of the (fill in the blank with NFL team)'s front office over their presumed lack of knowledge because they did not draft according to the pretend GM's wishes.

And I would add, go back through the past years threads and find all these types and laugh. Then point it out how everyone on it knew exactly next to nothing and listen for the crickets lol.

Thats the fun of it. But I really do think I could draft better than the guys the pay to actually do it. He!! I would do it for free like I already do. That BPA they go by don't always work out for the best?

That's cool. But, please, come draft time next year let the rest of us enjoy a draft thread that gives us a chance to learn about our new prospects without having to wade through pages of "dumbass front office ... no way you take WR there especially Joe Blow, when OG Tommy Hardpecker is still on the board. I want Hardpecker now!"
