Jahri again?

Saints bring in a slew of player for workouts, including Jahri Evans

The Saints kicked off their offseason by releasing veteran guard Jahri Evans, who eventually went on to sign with the Seahawks before getting cut at the end of the summer.

That leaves Evans as a free agent looking for work, a quest that brought him back to New Orleans on Tuesday. According to multiple reports, the Saints worked out Evans as part of a session that featured numerous familiar names in search of homes for the 2016 season.

The Saints have struggled to find the right combination on the interior of their line with 2015 first-round pick Andrus Peat, Tim Lelito and Senio Kelemete among the options. Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate reports that Khalif Barnes, who was cut by the Saints over the weekend, was also part of the workout.

Wide receiver Rueben Randle, most recently of the Eagles, took part as well and Underhill adds long snappers Aaron Brewer and Thomas Gafford; offensive linemen Mike Liedtke and Bryce Harris; cornerbacks Darrin Walls, B.W. Webb and Sterling Moore; and wide receivers Nate Washington and Greg Little to the list.

Some of those workouts are likely about updating emergency lists, although the Saints have already made some changes to their 53-man roster so some players at the bottom of it could be in danger of losing their jobs.

Re: Jahri again?

If he's 100% healthy, maybe. But he was just as bad or worse than Lelito and Kelemete last year.

Agree but the question is, is he better than Lelito and Kelemente? If so, we have to pull the trigger. Also interesting that they brought Barnes back for a tryout.

Re: Jahri again?

At this point I don't care. Go ahead and sign him. It's not gonna be pretty either way.

What Depth?

Well he would even a this point be a better back up if its cheap than you are likely to find on the street. It would be different if you had a young G who looked on the brink of being a starter then he clogs up the roster. Also in helping bring the group along. Who is there now with a veteran head that say Turner can watch at what to do,who is there to teach him the little tricks to make him better.

If the cotract is cheap and weekly post week 1,i dont see the harm even if its just for a few weeks
