Hopefully Sterling Moore brings something to the table next week.

Crawley isn't ready.

As good 4-3 linebackers get older and slower it is common sense to move them to OLB spot or phase them out and bring a young fast talented guy for the middle. It is the most physically demanding position on the defense.

Vikings got it and transitioned to Kendricks. Cowboys probably moved Sean Lee outside for similar reasons. I guess the Saints didn't get the memo.

Re: Defense good for a 1/2

Drafting another fast LB who can run sideline to sideline and arrive with bad intentions is a necessity.

James L looked over whelmed and beaten out there.

Side note: While we were getting gashed up the gut, where was Byrd? Is he simply taking up space in center field?
Those are his responsibilities to make plays. Not very effective.

7-9 still sounds accurate.

If we can't hold teams to 20, it will be a long season.
I can hardly imagine no sacks, pressures or turnovers EVERY week.
Can our defense really end up 31 or 32 again? Is that possible?
I don't think so.
As the front 7 improves, I think it all gets better.
Side note - Brees got hit a LOT!
That has to change too.

I honestly think Gwacham & Edebali would give the pass rush a better chance, because that Cleveland guy starting all 16...idk about that

Nope - del rio knew how bad our D was and rubbed our noses in it....
Del Rio spits on Dennis Allen and the defense, some of it hits Payton as the "boss". What a character building effort for the Raiders and put down for the Saints.

I counted 3 hits on Brees. One was on that busted option on the Goal Line. Another, he held the ball forever, and it was the fumble.

Only one was potentially nasty.
O Line actually looked much improved, although most of our passes were
quick.
Crusader likes this.
