How about Marques Colston, projected to go undrafted; picked in the 7th round... He couldn't start neither; oh wait...
Let me clarify because I didn't mean to make it sound like Crawley is a bad player. I was talking more about the decision makers who thought it was a good idea to shore up our bad secondary with undrafted rookies.

Give him a couple more games experience before writing him off then...

I never wrote him off. I'm just saying that as an undrafted rookie there are certain parts of his game that are not up to par and it will take time to get him coached up. Expecting Crawley and Harris to come in and improve a bad secondary was not realistic.

Mitch,

I think what Chris was getting at is that we can't build a contender out on UDFA's & cast off Vets. You can't build a playoff team at the end of pre season either.

What we should be doing is building a team over 2 to 3 years of careful drafting & free agent signings. All of this is a self reflection on how our staff is doing, and how good a job their staff and what the finished product is.

No one is piling on Crawley here. It all starts at the top (Benson, Loomis) and trickles down from there. If the great DBrees doesn't play lights out yesterday, I think we get blown out (especially late). He continues to cover up a lot out there.

Injuries (Swann, Pruitt, Kyle Wilson, Breaux) certainly don't help either.

Injuries happen; it's next man up... Crawley was forced into a starting spot and wasn't slated to be the #2 or #3 corner this year...

But to say that he can't help the secondary because he went undrafted is ludicrous

Just hoping for the best! I think bringing back Finnegan and getting Sterling Moore up to speed will help. For what it's worth, I have the utmost confidence in PJ Williams so it isn't all doom and gloom!
