When it comes to Fleener isn't it funny how as fans we always think we know better? That signing was trashed by almost everyone in the media but we thought they were so wrong. Here's just a sample from WalterFootball:

Saints sign TE Coby Fleener (5 years, $36 million): KIELBASA SLIPS THROUGH THE FINGERS MILLEN Grade
I wonder how it feels to be a Colts fan right now. On one hand, they must be very depressed that they still have the incompetent Ryan Grigson running things. On the other hand, they have to be cracking up upon seeing the numbers Coby Fleener received from the Saints.

This signing is horrible. Aside from perhaps Vernon Davis, no tight end drops more passes than Coby Fleener. I'm sure he'll post some great numbers with Drew Brees throwing the ball to him, but he'll absolutely kill his new team with some untimely drops. Then again, maybe he won't be a fantasy monster, given that he couldn't produce with Andrew Luck, even when Dwayne Allen was out of the lineup with his injury issues.

This is an easy Millen. I don't understand what the Saints saw in him to make them believe that he's worth more than $7 million per year. Fleener, an average starter at best, would've been overpaid had he gotten half as much.

This is the one signing that I actually want us to cut his contract earlier, bring spiller back and cut Fleener and Cadet.

Fleener looked super confused yesterday.

I remember Moose Johnson calling him out on a route & dropped pass yesterday.
He has serious work to do as does Brandon Coleman.

I like that Vonn Bell got some decent playing time, word on him was he wasn't a great tackler but I saw him come flying down and knock back the ball carrier.

Notice how that seemed to light a fire under Byrd's a$$ as well?! That was easily the best I've seen Byrd look since he's been here. If that's what it takes then by God keep the 3 safety looks!

Absolutely, Byrd made some very nice tackles and showed decent speed tracking down the ball carrier!

More on Katzenstein's snap count story here >

Saints snap counts: Dennis Allen alters defensive look again | NOLA.com

Would rather have seen more Michael Thomas and less Fleener and Coleman...

Stephone Anthony is a mystery to me; He'd definitely had made that goal line tackle in the Week 1 game vs the Raiders...

D.A. just doesn't seem to like Anthony as a fit for the 4-3 he's putting in...
