There's still hope but the reality is
As it was said by Collinsworth last year, when it's your year it's your year. The offense looks good one game, defense the next. Thing is, we are 0-2 because of bad luck. Bad luck follows teams around to help other teams. So far bad luck has bitten Minnesota who's 2-0 start is going to diminish at some point. They simply do not have what it takes to be able to contend with AP missing time. This injury was to continue the rotation trend in the north of who gets to contend with GB each season, which it is Chicago's turn. Bad luck has bitten us and it's to help Carolina. Bad luck bites teams in the AFC East every year. Bad luck is biting the colts to help Watt and Clowney. And already bad luck bites Dallas to help whoever's turn it is to win the east. If we are not simply meant to win, we won't.
We did make some questionable offensive calls but this game was close to winnable despite that. Those questionable calls were having Coleman cut into Thomas and Snead's volume knowing he himself needs volume. But that's the way the cookie crumbles. Payton is not going to win another kind of way, this is the type of offense we relied on in the past. It sucks, but if we tried to play a certain way then we could have injuries happen to more important players on offense. We just simply have to be patient and if things don't go the way we want, hope that the competition loses. |

Re: There's still hope but the reality is
0-2 for 3 straight seasons isn't bad luck in my opinion, it's all on Sean Payton
The injuries we have suffered are definitely bad luck, 6 CB's injured and we are only in week 2 of the season. However, Payton does not get this team ready and we lose because of it. Look at the blocked field goal, fundamentals went out the window and that one play could have been the difference between winning and losing. The fact is great teams make those plays and we do not, we have not made those plays ever since 2013 when we squandered a lead against the Patriots. Payton is ruining this team, if it's true about Stephone Anthony, I don't blame him for being upset about the Laurinitus signing, Anthony is ten times the player Laurinitus is. It's just one thing after another every season, if it isnt injuries, then its the D, when the defense starts playing well, the offense becomes completely inept and throws the ball 44 times in a 3 point game. Why are we trusting Fleener, Cadet and Coleman with the game on the line, none of them deserve a roster spot, our roster is weak and that's why we are 0-2. |

They have reawakened the Carolinas in the sense these fans did not care until 2013. There is no escaping this kind of phenomenon. We are not going to stop it unless we start going and grabbing wins to the point Carolina pales. But our way of playing and the playcalling styles and the players being relied on that does not make sense, it's not holding a candle to the panther buzzsaw. With that said I'm not blaming Coleman, you took a number one receiver from his college team and turned him into three target per game guy and using him at all the wrong times. What do you think is going to happen? Snead and Thomas were not number ones in college. Stills wasn't, and they play well with the roles they are given. You don't rely on a number four receiver to win the game for you. Do you want another example of a letdown? Devante Parker. This is a playmakers league now and playmakers simply win. Until the panther phenomenon fades down, saints old style will have to sit and wait. However, it would wait anyway because injuries happen to help others. |

Also the Falcons beat the Raiders, so the Falcons made the plays they needed and we haven't.
The falcons scored 35 points on the Raiders so our offensive output last week looks to be nothing special against the Raiders D. |

Re: There's still hope but the reality is
Minnesota has a consistently good defense so when bad s**t happens they can still hang in there and get it done. That is why they are 2-0.
Winning teams always have a hunger and an attitude about them. They turn lemons into lemonade. |

Re: There's still hope but the reality is
As it stands right now, the Saints just aren't a very deep team overall. Yes, the starters can hang in there, but once people need to be rotated or replaced due to injury, the Saints roster isn't deep enough to overcome. Some of it is coaching, most of it bad personnel decisions. Simply cannot build a deep team when draft picks flame out and free agents don't pan out.

Re: There's still hope but the reality is
Patriots are getting it done despite no Brady and lots of injuries to include secondary. I don't know, we are still in these games. Even if we were 2-0 though still would not look that great.
