The Chargers scored 24 first half points and 10 second half points

The defense changed to man coverage predominantly in the second half and the results looked much better, I didn't notice Receivers running wide open like they were in the first half.

Is Brees okay? The last couple drives, a few of his passes landed short and we opted for 3 straight runs in the redzone, not really like us?

Vonn Bell had the typical up and down rookie start.
Gave himself a very bad angle on the Inman long TD, but then forced a huge fumble on Melvin Gordon.

The draft critique on him was he does not like to tackle, he laid some pretty nice hits yesterday, including that one in the first half where he smacked Dexter McCluster out of bounds.

Cam Jordan was invisible, that is not good. We are paying him far too much money, he has not been a factor for weeks...

Nick Fairley is an absolute animal
Having Tyler Davison back helped at the point of attack.

Michael Thomas is going to be great for us.

Craig Robertson had a rocky start with a blown coverage TD, but everything started going better when we changed the scheme and besides that he is very disruptive tackler.

I'd personally keep him at MLB. Which begs the question, how much do the coaches not like Stephone Anthony?

Everyone forgot that FB is still a football position and Kuhn made them pay.

Big win! It's a relief not be disappointed on a monday morning for once.

Re: Yesterdays win - some observations

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. I don't know what the heck we were thinking playing so much Cover 2 with someone getting his first action at MLB. That coverage is so dependent on the Mike it seems crazy to throw Robertson into that. I do have to disagree on Cameron Jordan. Thought he played a great game. The whole D-Line had excellent pressure all game.

The man coverage in the second half stood out for me. I'm thinking
when your playing Rookies or non-starters it's easier for them to
understand and execute. Especially with a guy Like Rivers chucking
the ball.
Also Drew was way out of his comfort zone never really had time
to set. There were very few long balls and a lot of running plays.

2015 - Stephone had 111 tackles.
2016 - rarely do I see him on the field.
Yesterday - 1 snap.

Maybe coaches feel that SA is a liability in coverage? Regressed in yr #2? Is he not completely healthy yet?

I don't think anyone knows what's going on.

Michael Thomas is coming on strong. I picked him up on my FF team and I don't see his work effort going down even with a healthy Snead. Teams were kinda ignoring him at first but even covering closer now he's still making plays. Not kidding myself though, those turnovers at the end were a fluke.

I hope the Raiders and the Giants think the same thing about how we gave them the game in the 4th quarter in those first two games.

I don't care man. I'll take the win!!

We get two weeks to talk about something positive. Hell yeah.

Anyone think Payton tries to land a trade partner for Anthony during the bye week?

For those who have the game taped ...

Nick Fairley. He is a monster in the middle.

i am one. for every good thing we can point to a bad. he has till his rookie contract is up for me to jump on this band wagon.

all in all i give him not bad for a rookie. still over hyped but not bad.

MT is a strong ROY (rookie of the year) candidate. Even when he is covered, he is open. His former college team mate Vonn Bell is no slouch either.

Two excellent draft picks from Jeff Ireland.
