Well I've gone and done it!
Well guys, I've finally had enough of Saints Report. Com. I was just given a 5 point infraction for telling the truth, and stating the obvious, which is that Mark Ingram is a bust. Therefore I told SR. Com to close my account. I feel so free now :D

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
How is Ingram a bust?

This should go well.

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Trust me. You wont miss it.
I liked the vibe here better from day 1. |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
and by the way. I disagree with you. I think Ingram is solid, and will become more valuable as we begin to use him more in the "work-horse" role.
Also, yesterday I saw some mad receiving skills. -- or as they would say over there, "You are ignorant. Do you even watch football? (everybody else in the Clique jumps on with LOL and cartoon smilies) "pwned" just messin' w/ you. I dont think Ingram can truly be called a bust, but thats just me. This is 'merica. enjoy the coolness here. |

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Nah. I don't think he's a bust. But that's your opinion man. Good to see you again.
|
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Considering he was projected to go much higher I would say he was less of a bust and more of a poor value pick but at the time it seemed like we got a decent steal. Certainly did not live up to the hype but who does anyway. We were also not using his skill set for a long time, just 1-2 yard dive runs which was stupid. He was a fairly decent pass catcher in college. Kinda of what Payton does though, takes players out of their element and tries to mold them into something else which has never worked out.

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Dear God he isn't a bust. Fact he's not even close.
This thread has made Saintfan very angry indeed. |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Yeah Ingram is in no way a bust, He admittedly to begin with wasn't a great fit because of our lack of commitment to the run but he's developed into a heck of a football player.
He played 11 games last season and recorded 1300 all purpose yards, 860 of them rushing yards. He's a multiple threat player, which I never thought he would be capable of, his hands are pretty darn good. |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Black & Gold now offers a prescription eyeglass plan.

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Ingram was a bust as a draft pick as a two pick player (Pat's 2011 1st round pick for our 2011 2nd Round pick & 2012 1st Round pick)...
We overspent with a first round pick alone, the add'l pick makes it worse; he was a third round pick at best... Ingram definitely rode the short bus to school when you factor how long it has taken him to get his game to this point... He's a good, not great, running back (now) who tends to fall down, even if it is forward, on contact; never tearing off long gash runs... But he fits what we do now, he's become a legit receiver, and he's got the right cap number; it's just taken him five years to get it... |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
The biggest problem with Ingram is that we have never given him the amount of carries he needs to be effective. He don't have the home run speed or the knock you down power but a nice blend of everything. He needs 20+ carries a game to wear a defence down.

Vs Packers, 26 carries for 176 yards Vs panthers, 30 carries for 103 yards The packers had no answer for Ingram that game. |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Ingram is a decent all around RB, I would still like to see an upgrade at the position. If by some slim chance the Saints are able to get Fournette, that would be the type of upgrade that could dramatically change the Saints to real contenders. The Saints will always be a pass first type of team, with that said need a big time RB to compliment what they do well. A guy like Fournette wouldn't necessarily need a front line that is better suited for the run versus pass. Think of it as having Deuce back in his prime again with a little extra speed. A combination of Fournette and Ingram could also pay off with better ball control and the ability to close games out by seriously wearing out opposing defenses.

What took you so long? I told them to ban me over 12 years ago.
They had no problem getting more fools. I agree with Skymike. |

"Reggie Bush will never be an every down power back" That's it. I was saying it with kid gloves too because I know how sensitive they are over there. I was right but they didn't want to here it. I love Ingram and have wanted him to work out so bad. He wasn't worth what we gave up to get him but he is still a solid guy. When he gets into rythem he is a beast. Key word is when. I like his attitude though. Never hear a peep out of him *****ing about his carries. |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
I don't know why everyone is so hyped about Fournette. He's not an NFL player. Good defenses will make him disappear just like Alabama. I definitely wouldn't waste a first on him although it may be worth it so I don't have to sift through a million "Payton hates LSU" threads.
Take the LSU glasses off. We need defense, offensive lineman, and even maybe a QB .not a RB |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Welcome back, He's not a bust. Ryan Leaf, he was a bust.
|
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
The BUST is utilizing him on first down --- EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I would pass on the next Adrian Peterson for the next Von Miller all day, everyday and on Sundays.
|
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Everyone wants a Von Miller. 3 years ago everyone wanted a Seattle defense and in the Warner/Rams era people didn't give a crap about defense. What I want is a coach who is creative and intelligent enough to come up with a new scheme that utilizes the talent he has and stick with it while adding players that fit. I'm tired of trying to copycat a style some other coach built. It gets figured out eventually. How many players have we drafted or signed to fit a certain type of defense only to go and change it up a couple of years later so they become square pegs in a round hole. I mean look at last years number 1 pick. 1000 bucks says when he leaves here he will become a beast.

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
One time I just got tired of it over there and posted a thread "what player has the biggest dong"
Strangely it got erased but I never got an infraction of any kind. |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Dude,
I said "THE" next Von Miller. Meaning a player with his ability to rush the QB over a RB with AP type skill. Follow? |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Yeah I don't think he is a bust. I mean is he really the back we'd hope he'd be perhaps not but he isn't worth cutting..

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
I agree with whoever said he is decent, because he is. Not great, and if great is what you expected, then maybe he is a bust. With all the bad decisions over the years since he has joined the team, he doesn't even register.
|
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
I can't seemed to get banned here no matter how hard I try. LMAO

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Trent Richardson was a double bust. :)

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
Some could say that Ingram wasn't worth two draft picks. One first rounder......sure. Two? It's questionable. Ingram's turf toe held his development back. He has developed into a good all around running back with good pass protection and as a receiver. I'm happy with where he is now. We would probably have wasted the other draft pick anyway. Roll Tide!!!
Oh yes, our 7th round draft pick looks pretty darn good in limited playing time. |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
He's no Johnathan Sutherland that's fosho
I would compare his status vs production to Reggie Bush's. Givin both their draft status and what we got in return in hindsight it was too much but we have gotten solid production from both and both have come up big when we needed them to. I remember how Ingram turned total beast a few years back when we made the playoffs. It took him all season but he finally hit on all cylinders. If he could give us that kind of production all the time then he would be well worth hat we gave up for him |

Re: Well I've gone and done it!
A whole lot of folks here have no clue what the word bust means. He's a starting RB in his 6th year.
Are people really that dumb? |
Re: Well I've gone and done it!
It's funny, I personally never stumbled on to the SR site when I initially looked for a place to discuss Saints' football.
I guess I was lucky that I found this great place right away and didn't have to deal with the community over there - at least from what you guys are saying. Since then I've maybe visited their site twice... :bng: Oh, and I'd call someone like J. Russell, J. Manziel or A. Curry a bust - not someone like Ingram. And even with those guys the warning signs were there, so them being busts wasn't all that surprising in the end. |
