problems I have with the saints
and how they can be fixed:
1. everybody leggo his ego: loomis is a good accountant-but needs to listen to his scouts...haslet is a good coach but needs to not evaluate players. I think this has been a mjor problem in the saints fo...and why we have bombmed on picks. 2. get more smart football players--look intellegence and heart are two things this team is in dire need of...some comes from youth...but some players just are dumb..and i mean that in the football way not the einstien ( i could care less if a footbll player could do nuclear physics..i just want them to diagnose a play correctly.) also..just because a guy runs a sub-4.5 40...doesn' tmean he can play football...it means he is a trackstar in pads. deon sanders couldn't hit to save his life...a good example of this in this draft is thomas davis..this guy scares me-bad..but players slated for later rounds can think-like barret ruud and wesley britt!! 3. no accountability--esp. in the quarterback but in all players--if a player is acting the fool-yank him, put in the back up and deal with what comes...but don't just let a player make dumb decision after dumb decision without learning from his mistakes. that in my opinion is why brooks is the same quarterback he was 5 years ago ( a fact, not an opinion)-he is not being developed right and is not being held accountable. Ansd Yes..i'm calling out brooks..because he is due his..but duece is the same way--he is good.but up to the same tricks he was drafted with: 4. if a player has character/conditioning concerns when he is in college--it will only get worse in the pros..money brings out the worst in people: remember this rule for the draft. |

Don\'t necessarily agree with number 1 -- they have drafted many players very well -- Sully was a bust but the likes of Charles Grant, Will Smith, the linebackers are all good picks -- all in all I have been rather pleased with out drafting --
I totally agree with heart and intelligence -- as well as accountability. |

Which Linebackers were good picks? Last year\'s picks? Don\'t annoint them just yet please. they played decent in spot duty last year.
The hard truth is, We don\'t have a SINGLE LB that would start for another team. I don\'t know how we can ignore the \"Elephant in the Room\" that everyone else in the world sees. Our LB Corps SUX! |

Trust me when I say..We all know our LB\'s are scraps..for the most part..
But..It\'s hard to ignore the bright spots we do have on LB...Regardless of thier limited play..when they did play, they more or less exceeded expectations... We will get a LB..for sure...If not in FA then..we will get one or 2 , in the draft... It is hard to envision much of a turn around while Venturi is still calling the shots though... But..I will remain optomistic about it...I feel the additions we have made thus far have been really great...and I guarantee..hardley anybody even expected us to do as well as we have ...Myself included... I hope they keep the Tempo up..and get at least one more quality FA... |

\"The Saints had hoped to add a defensive tackle in free-agency -- they wanted Seth Payne of the Texans -- but now it looks like they will be forced to lean on third-year player Jonathan Sullivan. The staff has heard good things from Sullivan in terms of his motivation to get in shape. A year ago, Sullivan came to camp woefully out of condition and never became a factor. At some point this offseason, Saints coach Jim Haslett showed Sullivan a tape of himself playing at Georgia and asked him what the difference was between that guy and the one who was with the Saints last year. Sullivan told him he was lighter. So Haslett told him to get to that weight. Sullivan told him he wasn\'t sure he could. But now it looks as if the light has gone off, and Sullivan is willing to get there. If he can revert to his Georgia form, he will be a force in the middle, and the Saints will have a heck of a defensive line with Sullivan and Brian Young inside and Will Smith and Charles Grant on the ends. The Saints are still interested in trading end Darren Howard, who signed his franchise tender this week, but so far have not received the right offer.\"
We\'re Saints fans, don\'t give up on Sully yet. |
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. |

I can\'t and won\'t forgive a fat millionare who refused to do his job and sat around the locker room eating Ring Dings and Ho Hos.
Think of it this way. If he had done his job the Saints probably would have made the playoffs. I don\'t put everything on him but they were that close. TWO FIRST ROUND PICKS and millions tied up in the cap for him? He didn\'t even try. Forgive? Nope. |
