ESPN.com\'s Len Pasquarelli reports the Green Bay Packers saved about $3.4 million with the release of S Darren Sharper.
Well, we all know the saints need drastic help in the secondary, not to mention linebacker position. Darren Sharper would not be a bad addition, but the saints have a bad habit of picking up good players past thier prime (Dale Carter). Which is why i am glad about the recent signings of Dwight Smith, Shad Meier, and Jermane Mayberry (although Mayberry have some years on him). The defensive side of the ball has been shamefully neglected over Jim Haslet tenure as coach. Which is odd as a former defensive player. We all know defense wins superbowls. Case in point, the Colts offensive domanince has for the past few years been stunted by the patriots. This team underperforms year after year, but for the love of god I still love them. I know a stingy defense can perpell this team deep into the playoffs. Short and sweet.
And Favre is coming back for another year.
