IDK, but SR hasn't been on the field at all through 7 games and we have not played the Patriots this season, so I know which rookie hasn't done it.

WillMack,

I think Spkb25 has made his point. Have you seen that Saints defense first half? And yes, Rankins and Breaux are both playing today.

Held their opponents to 23 points at their home with the opponents pulling everything they had in their bag of tricks.

I'm just saying, a projected starter goes down, you plug in Onyemata and Jenkins, it's not the same line. And all the hoopla about the offensive line is legit in the preseason but Rankins's play is not?

Just my two cents

D front line struggled, not much pressure, missed assignments etc. Those 4 or so turnovers were outstanding but allowing long gains is not a winning formula long term. Hopefully Rankins is shaking off the rust but this defense has a lot of work to do. At the end of the day, we won.

On to Denver...

This defensive effort is not going to get it done against the Broncos...

Team worked hard to get to .500, but if the defense and especially the kicking game play like they did against the Broncs - it's gonna be a long day...

Bag of tricks? You mean throwing a swing pass for an untouched 60 something yard touchdown? Or a sideline pass to a TIGHT END for another 60 something yard touchdown? Or another 20 something passes thrown over the middle of the field with no defender in sight?

From the worst offense in the league?

Yeah, you're right. They were at home. Those roaring crickets in the stands definitely made all the difference. Our defense was awful today. Please don't waste anyone's time by trying to pull yet more excuses out of the garbage can.

I didn't expect Rankins, or Breaux or anyone else who haven't played for months to come riding in on a Unicorn and win the world for the Saints today.
They must get back into game shape.
I believe that we will be much more stout on D in the coming weeks with their return.
I just don't get the all or nothing mentality.
They weren't perfect so f-em!
They were ok so they are all-world.
There is a middle ground.
That all goes out of the window when hyperbole is used to MAKE MY POINT!
The Saints won today.
It wasn't perfect and it wasn't an atrocity.
It was a w.

They didn't have to be all world, or unicorns. They just needed to be average against a terrible offense. Yet it was the worst performance of the year from that group, aside from getting the turnovers. You can't depend on turnovers. This team goes weeks without forcing turnovers, sometimes. You can't overlook just how bad it was that receivers were running completely unchecked, virtually the entire game. Or if you want, I guess you can. That's up to you.

Yes we won, and that's great. Everyone has given credit to the offense, and even to the D for at least managing to cause those turnovers. It's not an all or nothing mentality to say the defense played like garbage for most of the game.

Someone please show me where in the definition of being a fan that it says you have to act like a groupie and worship the team, heaping praise just for the sake of making people believe you are the biggest and greatest fan. And I'm not even saying that others can't be unrealistically positive. Just lay off on the holier than thou approach while you're doing it, please.
