-Pushed the pocket
-We rushed 4 a lot so there weren't many 1 on 1's for him to exploit
-was upset with himself he didn't grab the fumble
-Flashed a spin move/bull rush/hump move(kind of a straight arm)
-Think he got blanked out on the stat sheet
-Could see him giving the olinemen fits
-Kelly likes his QB to get the ball out quickly, wasn't a good game to see him flash
-Came out of the game healthy
- C+
-Played more than 10 snaps
-Didn't see the QB hit but that's good news
He's going to be a problem. He's got good footwork and the agility of an edge rusher in tight quarters but he got chipped or helped by another olineman rather often this game. One of his spin moves got him by the initial olineman only to see him get chipped by a second blocker. Few times his hump move allowed him to re-establish the LOS but the ball would come out quickly and negate his progress. As Lelito said...he can dent a pocket.
Will be easier to see him flash against pocket passers/ teams that utilize 5 and 7 step drops/ and when we 5man blitz a lot to get 1 on 1's
Sounds promising :bng:.

Sounds very promising, indeed. I didn't notice him with all the easy quick throws our secondary were giving away. Even if Kelly didn't like his QB to get the ball out quick, we made it too easy. So hopefully all that stuff said about Rankins is true.
If he is getting chipped, that's what we want. If he can't get to the QB, someone else should, when two linemen are taking him on. Dennis Allen made a mistake not playing more man coverage and forcing Kaepernick to hold it longer, even for just half a second, in my opinion.
