Yep ... remember the Mel Blount rule? From what I've read & seen on old NFL films, it was pretty hard getting any separation as a WR back in the day. Different game back during that era.

Back when the dB could use their hands. a rule change to drive the scores higher and make more money. same with the NBA and hand checking. Baseball and lowering the mound.

many of today's WRs would never make a team back in the day.
