The Lions later in the season will also be tough as Detroit have some steam now, they have won 5 games whilst trailing in the 4th quarter of every single one.

Would 5 more wins secure a wild card spot?

According to:
New Orleans Saints What If?

It looks like 6 wins is the magic number. Odds of not making the playoffs drops from 53% for 5 wins down to 9% for 6 wins.

The Saints remaining schedule has three tiers in order of priority:

1) Crucial division games: Tampa Bay (2), Carolina, Atlanta
2) NFC games: LA, Detroit, Arizona
3) AFC game: Denver

The first group is literally win at all costs. The second group is important but not critical. Detroit is in the running to win the NFC North, while Arizona and LA are likely out of the running.

Denver has the least impact of playoff positioning. However, every win helps. And more importantly, it's the next game.

Winning all 4 of tier 1, and going 2-2 in tiers 2-3 may have the Saints in the running to win the NFC south.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.
