Re: Are The Saints Playoff Contenders?
It depends on the next few games in my opinion, denver followed by Carolina is a tough matchup but both teams are beatable.
The Lions later in the season will also be tough as Detroit have some steam now, they have won 5 games whilst trailing in the 4th quarter of every single one. Would 5 more wins secure a wild card spot? |

The second group is important but not critical. Detroit is in the running to win the NFC North, while Arizona and LA are likely out of the running. Denver has the least impact of playoff positioning. However, every win helps. And more importantly, it's the next game. Winning all 4 of tier 1, and going 2-2 in tiers 2-3 may have the Saints in the running to win the NFC south. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |

Re: Are The Saints Playoff Contenders?
In my humble opinion I view the term "contenders" as simply meaniing are they as good as everyone else contending for the 6 playoff spots.
Only an expert idiot would say we aren't. They're simply not that many elite teams in the NFC this year. We may end up being an also-ran, but that means we were in the running. |

If we win the next two games, I am backing us in.
It troubles me that the Lions are considered contenders. I don't rate them at all. |

Re: Are The Saints Playoff Contenders?
I think the Saints have something special brewing. Their top 3 WRs are a perfect trio. They're young and getting better each game, but I think they're already the best WR group in the NFL. The Hightower, Ingram competition/duo is sweet and Fleener has been contributing. If the D improves a little bit, we win the BOWL. WHO DAT!

The Saints are a half game out of the playoffs. I think by definition, they're playoff contenders as of right now.
