Hey Whoodi - how many rushing yards do you think Deuce will have when the Saints big threats out on the corners are Stallworth (that is, if he doesn\'t pull another hammy) and Gardner? Think teams might stack the line of scrimmage? Don\'t want to sign Horn b/c it stops the Saints from signing which big name LB that you think the Saints are realistically pursuing (as compared to who you wish they would sign)????

We will sign horn to a long term deal......because we are not as smart as the Pats. they dont care who you are, when you get to a certain age you are gone if you are gonna cost $$$$$$$. Horn should play out his contract or go. that is the two options!!!!or we should pull a Pats. I know he is a fan favorite, but this is a business!!!!

Hey WHoDat, did you not see my option was to trade Horn and attempt to find a replacement? :o

Joe Horn simply isn\'t a big play guy. When Joe catches the ball, he usually gets tackled where ever he is standing.
LOL

You wouldn\'t know \"big play\" if it punched you in the face.

Horn is a \"go to\" reciever. He is there to make the catches when we need them most. (Most of the time). He\'s still good. Give him a heavy ended contract or an incintive based deal and keep him. Re-work Deuce\'s deal and give him the money he deserves.

Or I guess we could cut Deuce and see if Ricky \"The Doper\" Williams could come back. He could get stoned before every game and try to \"find himself\". Then after games when the press is interviewing him why he ran the wrong way on 1st and goal, he would just laugh and eat Funyans. Hey...maybe thats why AB is always laughing!

Seriously, Joe can still play and can be counted on for a few more seasons. Pay the man and shut him up.

somewhat parallel news in carolina (pro football weekly)-

The Panthers’ decision to release WR Muhsin Muhammad wasn’t exactly a surprise — it had been expected if the team couldn’t come to terms on a restructured deal that would allow Carolina to avoid paying a $10 million roster bonus that was due March 1. Muhammad quickly signed with the Bears, but the Panthers aren’t weeping over their loss. We’re told Carolina general manager Marty Hurney certainly felt a sense of loyalty to one of the last remaining original Panthers, but the team no longer believed Muhammad was worth the kind of cash he was asking for — reportedly in the neighborhood of $5 million a year. We hear the Panthers took Muhammad’s age — 32 — into account, then recognized the fact that Muhammad has only had three 1,000-yard seasons, and only one in the last four years. The Panthers’ long-term financial health outweighed the team’s loyalty, and Muhammad was allowed to walk. We’re told that even if Muhammad has another breakout season in 2005, the Panthers believe they made the best decision for the team in the long run.

Wow. Best decision IN THE LONG RUN. Imagine that. Didn\'t Muhammed just go to the pro bowl? Wow. So some teams understand the NFL is a business? Wow. Hey Who, what kind of crack are they passing out in Carolina?

Muhammad is not in the same class as Horn, so don\'t even go there.
Would he have had the type of year he did, if Steve Smith hadn\'t missed the entire season because of injury? I think not.

Yeah, cause Rodney Peete and Chris Weinke are such great QBs. Come on BNB. Muhammed was a good receiver BEFORE Joe Horn. Anybody know who our receivers were when he had Weurffel and the Bobby Joes QBing? Did we have any pro bowlers? 1999 Muhammed 96 catches, 1253 yards 8 Tds. Sound like Joe? 2000 102 catches 1183 yards 6 Tds. Sound like Joe? Then the Winke experiment and the old man river Peete experiment.
