Re: Source: Brandin Cooks frustrated with his role on offense
There is a trend in the NFL of good receivers being ignored, not on this level but I have observed it all season. Monster game and then next to nothing the following week, then somebody emerges out of nowhere like TommyLee.
The spreading the ball around tactic seems to have evolved into a new tactic of ignoring a good receiver for much of the game. Patriots love to do it. Every week with them you never know who is going to be the main effort. |

Gee whiz, talk about guilty before being proven innocent. This is a story some talking head made up. Has Cooks said anything himself? nothing that I have seen... so why is he getting bashed? Ridiculous.

Re: Source: Brandin Cooks frustrated with his role on offense
All this crap is based off of a tweet Cooks posted. Something to the fact that they say this is a business so I guess I will have to be a businessman.
Media is reading into this that Cooks is upset. I personally don't think he is but if he is, learn how to run better routes and beat the coverages and Drew will find you. But his threat on the field is what opened up the rest of the receiving core. Again I don't think there is anything to this story. |

Re: Source: Brandin Cooks frustrated with his role on offense
Saints coach Sean Payton said he is "not concerned" with WR Brandin Cooks becoming frustrated with his role in the offense. He said it was "a little unusual" to have a game where Cooks had zero targets, but the first play of the game was actually a shot play designed for Cooks that didn't work out, and they will keep working for opportunities to get him touches. "He's a fantastic player and a good man, and we have a great relationship," Payton said. "He's been explosive this season, he's certainly a primary target for us with what we do, and I think that's evident."
