Darren Howard WEDNESDAY Countdown Thread
Heard on espn today that the jets cannot come to terms with abraham and letting him seek a trade. this is not good news having a higher rated de available at must-go sale price, although he is less must-go for them than howard here. just a 2nd rounder alone now will make me happy.
----------------------- after reading this maybe howard will look MORE attractive...

I hate that this deal for Howard is coming down to the actual deadline. Now we may get caught in a firesale for him and not get enough in return. Oh well, if he draws at least a second, you have to consider that a success for a player who would have walked for nothing. Anybody realize if we keep him for one year and tag him for next season again and try to trade him his cap figure will be 9 mil or more? Why would anyone want that as an option if 7.8 mil is a lot? Come on Dallas, make this happen today.

I\'ve heard rumors that our FO is actually working on a long term deal with Howard again. Now, I suspect that is not true, but it is a rumor that should prevent a \"fire sale.\"

They are working on the long term deal to be able to trade him. That protects Dallas. If they trade for him without the deal, he becomes their 7.8 million dollar problem, and not ours. If it\'s not done by 3pm today, any team that trades for him before July 15 runs the risk of being stuck with his current 7.8 million dollar one year deal, and the HOPE they can get a long term deal done.
