I have about had it with this fanbase.

I guess it may be time for me to turn on the saints. But what's really gonna turn me against them is the fact that I cannot co-exist with fans who want what cannot happenL a 200 yard limiting defense that is suffocating. And because of that, I may just need to move on maybe just quit the NFL altogether but my fantasy league keeps me from doing that. But if it's hard I may have no choice.

I do believe my time as a saints fan has wore its welcome.

I was Brees first fan not a saints first fan. The number one reason for watching the saints is offense and the fans can't see it's lacking.

As I said I held this team to a higher standing than the mavericks because of having a top QB.

Go root for Russell Wilson, hawks need more fair weather fans. If you have only been rooting for the Saints because of one player which was your deciding factor, that tells me if he'd gone to the dolphins instead of the Saints, then you'd be a 'fins fan....then maybe it is time. Sorry, hate losing fans but oh well.

We have had a difficult season as fans, not completely disastrous like the 49ers or Browns but still pretty difficult to stomach.

Still, you don't see any of us are turning our backs on the team, **** happens.

Changes need to be made.

This can't happen soon enough. Please pick another team quickly.

The Saints could change their colors to pink and gray and I'd still be a fan.

The mediocrity and losing isn't what happens. Those things come around. What bothers me is the NFL itself and Goodell. This is easily the worst the league has been run in its entire history, at least post AFL-NFL merger.

He never was a fan. Nothing there to lose.

Then you were never a real Saints fan anyway. Many of us have gone through multiple 2-4 win seasons and haven't waivered . We don't need bandwagon fans like you who are player first kind of guys taking up our seats in the dome.
Go cheer for Atlanta.they have a good offense.

I guess that it is a sign of the times that many fans are really not fans of any particular team, but, rather, they are fans of a particular star player.

We see lots of this in the NBA already. My guess is that the NFL is becoming the same way.

When you think about it, when you are a fan of a team like the Saints or the Pelicans, you are simply rooting for the laundry. No matter who coaches or who plays, the team's fan roots for the team, or, the team's laundry, if you will.

Will you seem like a nice guy but if you're more interested in your fantasy team then your "real team", you're probably not the type of can that's gonna get along here. Mainly just because your priorities for the team are much different then most here.

Fact is, most of this fan base has endured much worse conditions then current. Worse coaching, QBs, defenses, kickers, win/loss record, etc. And we're all still here.

And don't blame it on the fan base. Hell there are guys here that I seldomly agree with at all. We have completely different opinions on everything from the coach to the waterboy. But we jab each other and know in the end, we all want the same thing. What's best for the team. Not the player. Or a FF team. That's why we respect each other dispite our differences.

So if you can't take it here. There's 31 other teams that could use another fan.

:bng: and it's not the laundry or Drew Brees.

Although, credit where it's due, Brees has made this team a lot of fun to watch. But, so have many, many other people. This is a team sport. I will still be pulling for this team in the post-Brees / Payton era.

Re: I have about had it with this fanbase.

The Saints always push their fans to the limit. That's what being a Saints fan is all about.

As I looked at the score at halftime yesterday and wondered what the hell was going on it didn't make me want to stop supporting the Saints. You stick with your team through thick and thin and sure enough, we very nearly sneaked a win.

Drew actually passed for more yards than Ryan, other records were broken as well so i guess what I'm saying is, its always a wild ride supporting the Saints, thats what makes it fun.

I'm never going to support another NFL team thats for sure!

Happy New Year everyone

and

GEAUX SAINTS!!! :-)

Geez... We're all frustrated, but you're just going to turn in your fan card? You were either a fan or you weren't. If all you wanted was to watch Brees throw TD's, then you just like watching players play at the top of their game, and you move on when they are no longer elite, I would assume.

That's being more of a casual observer, than a fan. It's how I would equate my outlook on something like the NBA. I don't root for any teams because I don't care much about basketball, but I'll sometimes watch just to see what certain players will do. When you're a fan, you don't check in and out.

Buh bye!!! This board just got more fun! We may lose games and complain but we have our team interest first. We only want real die hard fans who understand good times and bad times.(listen to some Zepplin)Good luck with your next team.

I'd hate to see you bring down another team board too.......better yet pull for a division rival! :p

I would have stayed a fan. I followed saints in 2004 and their five game winning streak to end that season locked me in. I was a fan of them and KC. But KC's FO/QB issues and the insane obsession with Brodie Croyle made it okay for me to stick with just one team because of Brees. I would not have held the saints to the standards I held them to if they didn't have what they have. It's not that I mind rooting for losers it's that I mind rooting for losers with elite players on them, notably qb. And we're the only losing team in the league today with a elite qb. Go figure.

He never held a fan card. Way early on he posted that the Saints were "one" of his teams ... not "his team".

And btw, if our defense could not get to where it needs this year then what was the point of ignoring the offensive line just to have another mediocre defense? It does not take years for a defense to be better not when there's 30 million on the salary cap next year. The team has had losing seasons because only improving little by little on each side. That is terrible management. If Brady or Rodgers was on this team they would get in the FO's faces and demand the offense improve.

Seriously fixing a defense for three years now while a offense suffers at the expense.

I've seen a lot since 1967...Still here!
The thrills of victory and the agonies of defeat.
Not once have I EVER considered any of the other 31, not even once.
Don't get me wrong, I could choke sh!t out of the coaches and players sometimes,
but I am in - ALL in.
Just like players don't fold when they are down 2 touchdowns, I am not
taking my ball and going home because they aren't doing what I think they should do.
I am Black&Gold day-to-day, week-to-week and season-to-season.
...as long as they don't move to Texas.

Re: I have about had it with this fanbase.

The saints will have a winning season next year because with all that money they'll have everything they want fixed, including using it as a excuse to fix the rest of the oline but championship teams don't wait until everything is perfect. Being a flash out of nowhere is one reason why we don't get the respect of others. We like to play shock and all football and not blend in with the pack but standout from it and when you three straight 7-9 seasons it's going to bring out people calling the team a fluke when that happens. Payton should have seriously thought about this. And no matter what Payton isn't going down in the history books as a all tme great HC because of 7-9 seasons, four under his watch. He's not a championship caliber coach no matter what happens next year.

The Saints O is still highly proficient. The O line was supposed to have Peat at guard and for Lelito to step up like Strief did years ago. Evans did a good job and our elite LT was hurt. Peat played well at LT. We will get a solid guard. The defense improved despite tons of injuries.

Lutz's 3 blocked game winning kicks and a 2 point conversion against the Raiders = 4 losses we snatched out of the jaws of victory. Those 4 plays go right and we would have an 11-5 record and we would be in the playoffs.
