I could see the Saints going after a RB as early as rd 3 if not sooner. |

We need a better TE . I like Mixon over McCaffrey and want use up a 1st. If Payton wants to strike fear again draft a TE at 11 and Mixon at 42.

Re: 2017 Free Agency thread anyone?
Fear in his fan base? After O.J. what TE's worth an eleven and Mixon at 32? Wow, that'd go right up there with the SJB pick in over reaching a draft pick. There's a real good chance that guy's still there in the early third.

In the modern economic cap model, there's really not a whole lot of money for an elite TE when you've got an elite QB, two elite defenders, an All-Pro offensive linemen, and a Top 5 X receiver... You know, kinda what we should've learned from the Graham experience... |

Re: 2017 Free Agency thread anyone?
Although Hagan's really persuasive, I'm still having a bit of a problem justifying a TE selection in the first with what we already have. I'll be having flashbacks if it's any TE except O.J. There'll be some pretty awesome ones still around in the third and fourth. To win now, I'm still thinking our focus needs to be pretty much on the other side of the ball in the first couple three rounds.

Re: 2017 Free Agency thread anyone?
Cook traded and no real backup for Zach much less a future starter makes the need for a blocking TE with receiving skills is a huge need for the saints to help out the poor OT that takes over if Zach goes down. He goes down DBL TE set appears to be the only real option. kills two birds with one stone
11 - O.J. Howard TE Alabama 6055 251 4.51 #88 Sr 103 - TE Iowa 6036 250 4.53 #46 rSr 229 - Blake Jarwin TE Oklahoma St. 6050 244 4.76 #47 rSr That is why I wanted the saints to chase. Ricky Wagner RT 27 BAL DET 5/$47,500,000 Rex Burkhead RB 26 CIN NE 1/$3,150,000 Let Zach sign an extension and play out his years as our swing OT Heck of a heavy OL set that would have made. Then defense in the draft could be the #1 issue. We could have avoided the issue all together I would have passed on these 3 in heart beat to sign those two. Nick Fairley DT 29 NO NO 4/$28,000,000 to $32,000,000 Ted Ginn Jr. WR 31 CAR NO 3/$11,000,000 Manti Te'o ILB 26 LAC NO 2 /$5,000,000 Round 3 has Nick replacements Dalvin Tomlinson DT Alabama 6027 310 5.19 #54 rSr Vincent Taylor*, DT/NT Oklahoma State 6025 304 5.07 #96 rJr I would have rather gone with Lawrence Guy DE/DT 27 BAL NE 4/$13,400,000 $2,600,000 As Drew goes so do the saints. He goes down and the season is over. |

Hell Hagan, we could've avoided the issue already had they listened to us and drafted heavy into the OL a few years ago instead of drafting whatever just to confuse the mock draft gurus (and us).
