Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
I still have not heard an argument of Lattimore over OJ Howard that changes my mind. That's a discussion that we'll maybe have to have at the end of the season Hagan. I thought position wise a DB was a better pick for us. Haven't really drunk the koolaid on Latt, but as far as the pick for a position.... RBs and WRs can pick up the slack for a low to average TE. Nobody can really do that for a low to average to injured CB. Just hopefully we didn't pick an injured CB! |

It's also quite possible with all the time and tape on him he developed some habitual "tells" and "tendencies" that gave the opposition an advantage in the kicking game... |
Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
We've still got a whole helluva lot of Training Camp and Pre-Season, but I'd say the early numbers are going like thus...
Quarterback - 2 Fullback - 1 RunningBack - 5 WR/SR - 6 TE - 2 OT - 3 OG - 3 OC - 2 DE - 5 DT - 4 LB - 6 S - 5 CB - 6 See some first week shuffling again, by starting with only two TE... We'll keep six CB, a premium position for us and the league... Armstead and or Unger may get injury designations that will open up a roster spot for a third TE that will be claimed off waivers; not sure Phillips can recover all this lost time after that appendectomy; he's a keeper, but not a luxury we can afford... |

KEY QUESTIONS - OFFENSIVE LINE
LT (2) 71 - Ryan Ramcyzk (R1, P32), 69 - Khalif Barnes LG (2) 75 - Andrus Peat, 77 - John Fullington, 78 - Landon Turner C (2) 61 - Josh LeRibeus, 63 - Cameron Tom (UDFA), 66 - Jack Allen RG (2) 67 - Larry Warford, 65 - Senio Kelemete, 62- Kristjan Sokoli RT (2) 64 - Zach Strief, 79 - Bryce Harris, 73 - Jerry Ugokwe Ultimately you have to earn a job, but here are some scenarios I see playing out... Unger may not play Week 1 or even 3, but for him to be that close would mean another DE, RB or CB...How important will it be for Unger and Kelemete to be ready at the beginning of the season?!? Assuming Ramczyk just does a great job at LT, do we keep Bryce Harris with an aged Zach Strief?!? And does Terron Armstead get moved in the offseason??? Peat and Warford look to have tremendous size, mass at their respective positions and seem to be part of a plan to run the ball a little more; after Kelemete, who will probably already be playing C for a couple of weeks, who backs these guys up??? Out of Fullington, Turner, and LeRibeus, who is making this roster??? |

So Lattimore has 4 years to do his thing. Lattiimore is a saint and I hope he feeds me crow in 4
Quote:
I ask myself a few simple Questions in Round 1 (If the player lives up to their billing) Does the player have a skill set you see only once in a long while? Is the player a safe pick just looking at injury history? Will the player give us cap flexibility in the next few years? Does that player fill a need? I answered yes to 4 for OJ I answered yes to 2 for Lattimore. Level of need at CB is higher but the rare type of player wins out despite a lower level of need. With the desperate shuffle of the OL now a TE with solid blocking skills would be a welcomed addition. Heine site I know but a factor that I thought was a bigger need than most before the draft http://blackandgold.com/blogs/hagan7...huge-need.html Any was, Draft needs would change and be weighted heavier to the Secondary from round 2 on. Round 3 is the round I would have rolled the dice a CB with an injury history CB Fabian Moreau instead with the second pick in the third. Then add another later like CB/RB/KR/PR Brandon Wilson in the 6th I like our 2nd round pick FS Marcus Williams but I would have added another in FS/SS Kai Nacua in the 7th or make my top priority UFA since we traded the pick. So thats 3 DB drafted and one we are chasing to fill a need that given the talent coming of IR was not IMO as high of a need as most. But still one of the top areas of need. FS and CB would have weighted equally after rounds 2 and 3 IMO as an area of need. If BPA in the first over rides an bigger area of need then that area of need will get banged at least twice in the draft if possible. That is how I roll at draft time But opinions are like A-holes we all have them |

If you did I would bounce OT to the top of the area of needs list in 2018. Quote:
OG looks hopeful, Fullington and Turner looks to be next men up and we run the ball Quote:
