what about this lb
This actually my favorite linebacker. In the sportingnews draft guide it says that he has excellent recognition skills, rarely takes a poor angle and gets out of position. It also says that he does a gret job of sealing the backside and rareley will get caught overpursiung. That is all I need to hear. He is also great pass ruher. I would love to get this guy.

i\'m gunning for ruud in the first, but I\'d love to blaykenstock or burnett in the second and then later on grab mcune for a backup MLB...that would be a good score...

what about this lb
I\'m going to go ahead and say it now so remember this: Darryl Blackstock will have 10+ sacks his rookie year (in any system) and he\'ll average about 13.5 for the next five years. In laymen\'s terms, the guy is a freakin Sack Machine. Yes he\'s raw. Yes he can\'t cover or play the run...yet. With the proper coaching he could become more of a complete LB. But for now he does one thing and he does it better than any other LB coming out. He puts pressure on the QB. If we had him on the field with no other responsibilty but to rush every play, with our DEs he would be dominate. The rest of the football techniques like playing the run and coverage would come later. Before I go to bed every night I ask God for two things, that He keep my family safe and that He let Darryl Blackstock slide to us in round 2 !!!
Not as complete a player as DJ or even Ruud, but the best pass rusher in this class and it\'s not even close. The only player even close to his level is Shawne Merriman but he\'s more of a DE or OLB in a 3-4 scheme. |

what about this lb
key is player development..which is not excatly what our coaching staff specializes in.
someone on the radio was comparing blackenstock sp? to LT which was a huge complement..I am just very worried about him not being there when we pick. dallass and boston both want linebackers....though I think dallass is going to try to get merriman.. [Edited on 21/3/2005 by baronm] |
