Mickey Spagnola...Interview about Darren Howard, and what's
I personally think this is something that will end at draft day. I think that we are holding on to Howard because if Johnson or \"Pac-Man\" does fall to Tennesee, than Howard would be in that deal instead of a First. I know, its kinda crazy, but doesn\'t it kinda make sense? They need a proven guy now especially since Carter left, and they don\'t want to spend the salary of a top-10 pick player and they might be a bust. Plus if we did keep our first too, than it would help us get both our needs, an O-line man( Brown) and a solid playmaking d (jones or johnson) think of this or am I just hoping something that isnt there?

i would like such too. the error in your reasoning is that tennessee cannot afford howard. he would be more than carter they let go. his contract would be more than a top ten- 16mil bonus vs. $10mil. even top rookies actual salaries are a million or less as well. the titans would like to move down for more picks.
and if randy moss the best receiver in the league gets a #7 and rb\'s james and alexander cannot fetch a second rounder, how do you figure a pretty good de that has played in 31 games the last 2 years will draw a #6? [Edited on 22/3/2005 by LKelley67] |

Not to mention that Carter is a heavyman DT not a pass rushing DE. And they drafted two pretty decent DEs in the draft last year.

Yeah, Howard by himself isn\'t worth the #7th pick, but him, a second, and say take a chunk of his salary would be IMO. I guess its just a dream, but wouldn\'t that be a good trade?

Truth is we need more picks early on-high first low second.

I\'d keep him till draft day and see what happens, Take the best deal and just get something out of him. I dont think he wants to be here anymore and i know we cant afford him. Our FO has to have something in mind, surely they see we need help at LB.
