Re: 2017 NFL ProDays - Saints Prospects

MONTANA STATE
OL John Flynn (6-5 3/4, 310) ran the 40 in 5.15 and 5.19 seconds, had a 30.5-inch vertical, an 8-8 broad jump, a 4.73-second short shuttle, a 7.05-second three-cone, and 21 bench-press reps. He's got good arm length at 33 3/8 inches, and should be a priority free agent.

Arkansas
WR Dominique Reed (6-1 7/8, 182) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.45 and 4.39 seconds, had a 40-inch vertical, a 10-foot-4 broad jump, a 4.50 short shuttle, and a 6.82-second three-cone drill. He only was able to get up six reps on the bench press, however. The 4.39 40 and his vertical would have each ranked third among wide receivers at the combine.

TE Jeremy Sprinkle (6-4 7/8, 253) ran the 40 in 4.65 and 4.60 seconds, had a 30.5-inch vertical, a 9-8 broad jump, a 4.53-second short shuttle, a 7.09-second three-cone, and added 15 bench-press lifts. He's a good tight end in a very deep tight end class.

UTEP
LB Nick Usher (6-3 1/4, 235) wasn't invited to the combine but his pro day numbers should be enough to make him a priority free agent. He ran the 40 in 4.78 and 4.69 seconds, had a 31-inch vertical, a 9-10 broad jump, a 4.57 short shuttle, and a 7.50 three-cone drill. He also had 19 lifts, a pretty decent feat for someone with 34.5-inch arms.

Make no mistake, NO Saints are also scouting CB Jeremy Cutrer, a late-blooming CB with excellent length who picks up scheme very, very quickly...

6' 1" and 188 lbs... speed would be a concern though (4.60).

Not as much as he's a long strider and his job would be to match up on 6' 2" plus receivers...

My problem with specialized players is that creative OC can probe on a play or two to get a feel for a team's scheme and find a way to flip an assignment, create a mismatch (i.e. fmr Saints Brandin Cooks vs Raiders Sean Smith)...

I'd really like to draft Fabian Moreau, who's got length, weight and speed...

Projected to be a 6-7 rd pick as of now. Would rather have dewayne Thomas in the 6th

Don't think there aren't good corner backs in the mid-rounds - this is a deep class with plenty of options for a No. 2 CB, depth...

Absolutely asinine to spend top 10 CB money on a No. 2 CB, much less trade away a Day 1 or Day 2 pick...
