Troy Hawthorne - DB - Rebels
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline notes that while UNLV S Troy Hawthorne was deemed undraftable by scouts prior to the season, he "stands out on film." "Hawthorne looks like a missile the way he streaks to the plays and lays it on the line defending the run," Pauline wrote. "He’s a little one-dimensional as a downhill, run-defending safety, but if he does well on special teams Hawthorne will have a chance at a roster spot." The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Hawthorne, a converted quarterback, went from practice team player to one of the Rebels’ best defenders after the shift. |

Re: 2017 NFL ProDays - Saints Prospects
Florida CB Teez Tabor went through a private workout for the Saints and Cardinals on Monday, according to Rotoworld's Josh Norris.
Florida's pro day is scheduled for May 28, and Tabor might participate more than other Combine corners in the hopes of improving his results. Tabor offers 32-plus inch arms, understanding of zone coverage and an aggressive mentality when attacking the run. |

Jeremy McNichols - RB - Broncos
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline believes Boise State RB Jeremy McNichols is "going to be a very good rotational back at the next level." "He’s a multi-cut ball carrier with the quickness and footwork to create yardage and is also a terrific pass catcher out of the backfield," Pauline wrote. "McNichols will likely be selected on the final day of the draft and develop into a productive third-down back." McNichols entered the process with big questions regarding his size, athleticism and durability. He answered the athleticism bit at the NFL Combine by posting a 4.49-second 40-yard dash and leaps of 35.5 inches (vertical) and 121 inches (broad). He checked into Indy at a modest 5-foot-9, 214 pounds. |

Kevin King - DB - Huskies
In Monday's MMQB, Peter King writes "I think we know where Dallas is going in the draft" after losing multiple defensive backs to other teams in free agency. Starters Brandon Carr, Morris Claiborne and Barry Church all exited to other teams. Slot Orlando Scandrick and late round steal Anthony Brown remain at corner, but at least two other starting spots are open. This draft is loaded at cornerback, so the Cowboys should conceivably find a starter in the later part of round one and possibly even in round two. The team's safety depth might be even more shallow. |

Sean Harlow - T - Beavers
Oregon State OL Sean Harlow is visiting the Saints and Browns this week. Harlow attended the NFL Combine and tested in the 32nd percentile. Harlow played left tackle this season and missed a number of games to open the season due to an ankle injury. Harlow gained around 20 pounds in the last few seasons and might be viewed as a utility lineman in the NFL. |

T.J. Watt - LB - Badgers
A Midwest area scout for an AFC team said that Wisconsin edge rusher T.J. Watt "looked a lot stronger and a lot more confident on tape this year." "He needs to get bigger, but he's already a strong guy," the scout said. "I can see him standing or playing base end for a 4-3 team. He's going to keep getting better." Watt rocked it at both the Combine and on pro day. During the former athletic tests in Indianapolis, the 6-foot-4, 252-pound Wisconsin product was among the top performers at his position in the vertical leap (36 inches), broad jump (128 inches), three-cone drill (6.79 seconds), 20-yard shuttle (4.13 seconds) and 60-yard shuttle (11.20 seconds). And on pro day, he "displayed a smooth, fluid reverse when stimulating pass coverage," according to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline. He met with the Steelers on pro day, though Pauline is hearing that Pittsburgh might not be willing to part with a first-round pick to acquire Watt's services. T.J. Watt - LB - Badgers Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline hears that the Steelers may not want to spend a first-round pick on Wisconsin edge rusher T.J. Watt. The Steelers are keen on Watt -- they sat down with him on pro day earlier this week -- but a first-round selection might just be too rich for their blood. As for his work on pro day itself, the 6-foot-4, 252-pounder "displayed a smooth, fluid backpedal and easy hip turn and looked natural moving in reverse when simulating pass coverage." One scout who spoke with Packers beat writer Bob McGinn has called Watt "more explosive" than Clay Matthews. He is in the Day 1 conversation. |

Re: 2017 NFL ProDays - Saints Prospects
Treston Decoud - DB - Beavers
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline believes that due to a lack of speed, Oregon State CB Treston Decoud's best NFL fit might come at safety. Pauline calls Decoud a "much better football player than athlete," explaining that "[h]e’s a solid cornerback but the lack of pure speed, both in the forty and on film, makes me believe he’s better off inside at safety." On the speed front, the 6-foot-2, 206-pounder logged a relatively uninspiring 4.62 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the Combine. He bettered that in his pro day work, coming in at 4.55 seconds. NFL Media's Lance Zierlein is of the same belief as Pauline, that safety is probably Decoud's snuggest next-level fit. |

Re: 2017 NFL ProDays - Saints Prospects
Dont like his write up at all, though ive not watched him
OVERVIEW Expectations were high for Tennessee and Dobbs coming into 2016, but unfortunately there wasn't a SEC East title or Heisman Trophy in the picture. One of the most intelligent (aerospace engineering major) and likeable players in college football, Dobbs did perform well at times in his senior year, racking up 2,946 yards and 27 touchdowns through the air and 831 yards with 12 scores on the ground. His 12 interceptions set a career high, however. Dobbs started all 13 games for the first time in his career as a junior (2,291 yards, 15 TD, five INT passing; 671 yards, 11 TD rushing), which followed a strong sophomore campaign where he was named the TaxSlayer.com Bowl MVP after accumulating 205 yards of offense and three scores against Iowa. The four-star recruit from Georgia actually started four games for the Vols as a true freshman (695 yards, two TD, six INT passing; 189 yards, one TD rushing). ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Has the ball handling and release quickness to get the ball out early when challenged by sudden pressure. Able to get through progressions to the check down option. Throws a tight spiral with adequate drive velocity. Eye-catching deep pass accuracy (47.7 completion percentage) with 14 touchdowns on throws 21-plus yards. Displayed good mental toughness. Can make timely exits from the pocket and win with his feet against overzealous rushers who vacate their rush lanes. Has explosive ability as a runner. Offers a team packaged-play potential in short yardage situations. WEAKNESSES Could use more weight on his frame. Below average delivery balance affects his accuracy and ball placement. Footwork is uneven and causes him to throw from unbalanced platform too often. Throwing motion causes him to push some throws. Floats the deep out allowing defenders to close out his passing windows. Decision making not where he needs it to be. Can't always get away from poor looks once he's made his mind up pre-snap. Threw nine interceptions on just 104 attempts beyond 10 yards this season. BOTTOM LINE Dobbs is hardly incompetent as a passer, but he hasn't shown as much growth with his ball placement and accuracy as scouts had hoped to see from this former four-star prospect. Dobbs has decent size and is an outstanding runner outside the pocket which could appeal to a team looking for a developmental quarterback with play-making ability. |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!
