Re: Nick Fairley - 4 yrs / 30 million
neither did the one we gave to Junior. Are we still paying him to not play for the SKIns? I hope you're right, he was great for us last season

For those of you who always talk about hometown discounts, rejoice! We finally got one! I like the deal, both from a financial standpoint and in terms of length. I don't think we could have asked for much better.

Re: Nick Fairley - 4 yrs / 30 million
We didn't get to the qb. last season with him, why with signing him does anybody expect that to change, it won't. The run hurt us last year also and he doesn't play that well at all. We better get some bad a$$ cb's, here comes Mississippi 1 thru 10 again. I think we blew this one.

Re: Nick Fairley - 4 yrs / 30 million
They hardly ever happen, but this one was a hometown deal. I think the fact that his family could drive to the games from Mississippi was a factor. Another factor, I believe, is how he flourished in Dennis Allen's defense. They are a perfect fit.

Re: Nick Fairley - 4 yrs / 30 million
Top overall grade: LT Taylor Decker, 82.8 (No. 23)
Top pass-blocking grade: RG Larry Warford, 82.6 (No. 33) Top run-blocking grade: RG Larry Warford, 81.8 (No. 16) The play of rookie LT Taylor Decker was a pleasant surprise for this team. Decker was a player that didn’t overly impress PFF as a draft prospect out of Ohio State, but he was consistently solid all season, performing above-average as both a run blocker and pass protector in his first pro season. Larry Warford was markedly better than a year ago at RG, at least when it comes to run blocking, and Travis Swanson was solid at center. The biggest issue this team had was at LG, where the combination of Graham Glasgow and Laken Tomlinson simply took turns getting abused. As a pair, they surrendered six sacks, 10 penalties, and 49 total pressures, with neither countering that form with dominant run-blocking displays. |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

All I know is we're a better team with him than without.
As far as "will he play great as he did previously" ... I've seen nothing that would cause me to believe he'll pull a Albert Haynesworth on us. |

Especially if we manage to land a bad ass DE in the draft.

Re: Nick Fairley - 4 yrs / 30 million
How often did you see the initial pressure and pocket collapse but there was always one side that failed to hold the edge and give the QB an escape route.
We need another DE to close that gap and some depth for rotation. The LB didnt exactly help the run either |
