Mon Mar 21, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com ESPN's John Clayton reports by now the New Orleans Saints had hoped to have a contract extension finalized for HC Jim Haslett, who has two years remaining on his current deal. Both sides are exchanging proposals, but the goal is to extend Haslett through the 2008 season or beyond. |

Can you say HEDGING???
Benson isn\'t sure what is going to happen with the State. The current deal keeps the team in NO through 2009, I think. Why spend money to make a change? The status quo is good enough - especially with the current Marketing Department, which somehow manages to convince Saints fans every year that this time the Saints really will be good. |
