Because there's no guarantee how any draft pick will turn out. The odds are better with a top five pick but definitely not a certainty. So why not take two shots at getting a stud rather than one? And then there's another unknown, assuming all the draft picks do pan out relative to their draft status, does having one stud outweigh having two really good players. I think it just comes down to how convinced the team is that a certain player is exactly what they need. |
