Let's pass on Shermie. This is our chance with the draft this year.

He's not young, but I'm not sure saying he is in decline is accurate. He doesn't miss games, his tackle totals are consistent, and he does bring big time swagger.
Trade #32 for 3 pro bowl years? I'd do that. Day one, he would be our best defensive player.

Yeah it's sounding like a possibility, at least, but I'm not enamored with the idea, either. He's more name than game, at this point. If he winds up here, I hope I'm wrong about him. He probably can still be good, even outside of that Seattle system, but not nearly what he used to be.

It is when these speculations about what pick or picks would be needed become taken as actual demands that I blame media hype.

As for Schneider's comment, of course he is going to play along, and most likely embellish. It gives the team more leverage in dealings with Sherman.

Of course you wouldn't admit to being wrong about something. You said they are entertaining the idea of trading Sherman as much as the Pats are in trading Tom Brady (paraphrasing).

Meaning you aren't just talking about demands, you're talking about the likelihood of trading him, period. You never miss a chance to call a report false, without having any knowledge yourself, and then call people out for entertaining whatever the report is about. It'd be one thing if it were some fan site just blowing smoke and we were all making a big deal out of it. But that isn't the case here.

And no, Seattle's GM isn't "playing along". Did you miss the part where I said that most GM's will deny a report even if it is true? Because as long as that guy is still on your team, you don't want to make the situation any more tense than it already is, in case you end up keeping that player. Also, contrary to your opinion, it does not give the team more leverage. Teams can have internal conversations with one another about players. Talking about it publicly doesn't help them and, as I said, only serves to sour the relationship with the player. Which, if the Seahawks are planning on trying to extend Sherman at a discounted price, will not serve them well.

Other teams can sense that, and they will get the idea that the Seahawks probably will want to trade him now rather than let a potentially disgruntled player stay on their team, possibly get hurt, and have ZERO trade value going into the last year of his contract. And all of that stands to drive down his current trade value, due to the 'hawks urgency to get whatever they can, while they can.

That's a pretty good reason NOT to "play along".

I can't wait for them to pull the trigger on this trade and bring Richard Sherman to New Orleans. Instant upgrade. He's head and shoulders above any DB on this team. He'd be the best defensive back we've had sign Darren Sharper, and the best corner we've had since Mike McKenzie. The Saints have to compete now. All these dreams of Brees playing at an elite level until 45 aren't realistic. Let's make it happen.

He's not worth the 32, and he got ABUSED last season. As stated before, Earl Thomas was a huge help with his success. NO doesn't have that safety talent. Pass on the asking price. He isn't worth a player and high draft pick.

I would rather slam my ball sack in a door. Before every game I would pray he blows out a knee.
