Re: AP is close to deal with Saints
I'm cautiously optimistic if this is true. Cautious because for this to work we have to commit to the running game (something Payton often struggles with) more than we have in the past. I've lost count of how many times we start out a game trying to run the ball and if it doesn't work after a few runs we just go pass happy.
Here's hoping we didn't sign him just for Drew to continue to drop back and throw 35+ times a game. |

If this happens then the thought of drafting Mcaffery is probably off the table, which is ok w me. Our first 2 picks really need to be defense.

Re: AP is close to deal with Saints
Just turned 32, but has missed 2 of last 3 seasons... is that good or bad?
considering we paid Sproles $5 mill a a year and Reggie similar to that for the same job, I like it |

Dude is a backup insurance policy and spot starter if necessary. Like has been said elesewhere in this thread, he'll get a slice of Hightower's carries. It's the #2 RB by committee role that has been served by Hightower, Robinson, and Ivory in the past. BTW Sproles didn't get $5 million a year. He was traded to the Eagles because the Saints were unwilling to pay him $3.4 million IIRC: https://www.si.com/nfl/audibles/2014...orleans-saints SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |

Don't like signing a child abuser at all, I hope it's not true. I'll pull for the saints either way, I'll just not cheer that child abuser
