If they had drafted Mahomes, that would have been the dumbest possible thing to do. Nothing about him screams NFL quarterback, to me. Of course, my opinion doesn't matter to NFL GM's, but perhaps those geniuses should take a lot at the history of Texas Tech QB's, and ask themselves if it's reallllllly that good of an idea. Mike Leach always had his QB's put up video game passing numbers when he was there, at the expense of all other aspects of winning. Then one of his old QB's, Kliff Kingsbury, took over and ran pretty much the same offense, as you would expect. Not one quarterback has made it as a starter in the NFL from that system, to date. And Mahomes wasn't even as prolific as some of the others. I don't understand the hype with him. He's a better athlete than the others who've come from that system, but he wasn't a better player, and he won even less.

I can't imagine the Saints were actually thinking of drafting him, but thank goodness they didn't.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
