I have no idea how he is injury wise and so but the idea isn't to crazy to me. Still plenty of time to get in shape for the season. Especially if its just to fill in a couple of games at the start of the season. Center, especially in an offence like ours is a complicated position.

Yeah, that worked out really well with Goodwin.

Why would Mangold sign with us and go through the rigors of training camp knowing full well he'll be benched when Unger's ready?

And trading Ingram for a temporary replacement center?! Our running game already takes a hit without Unger so why make it worse getting rid of our best RB?

Thank you. Some voice of reason. Why the **** would trading Ingram make any logical sense at all?! It'd be irresponsible and totally crazy!

If we signed Mangold, his contract would be guaranteed for the entire year.

If we cut him in week 8 he'd still get paid for the final nine games and would be able to sign elsewhere and get paid double for the final 9.

Yeah there is that angle. That's up to Mangold. I say we stay the course and it's next man up.

I wouldn't be too sure about it just being speculation. Philly needs a RB in the worst way and I heard from other places before now that the Saints tried to trade Ingram earlier this spring with no success because the draft was deep at running back. With Philly not adequately addressing that position on draft day, I can see them as trade partners.

Come on guys, there is obviously a pattern here. Saints trade up to draft a RB who is better than Ingram in every way and also sign Adrian Peterson. Doesn't this look reminiscent of when they drafted Ingram when Bush was on the roster. Also, look at the fact that every malcontent has been cut or traded away. Galette, Lofton, Graham, Cooks, Lewis etc. It's clear Payton doesn't like insubordination or being challenged by his players. Anybody remember the many outbursts Ingram has had on the sidelines and I think the last one against the Cardinals was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Trust me when I say this....they're definitely trying to rid themselves of Ingram. Anybody with a me personality is being weeded out. Besides, it took Ingram like 5 years to finally get 1000 yds. People can say it's because he didn't get enough carries but I think the fact that he couldn't stay healthy is the reason he didn't get the lion's share of the carries. If Peterson is anywhere near his old self, Ingram is on the way out either this season or the next. There's no need for two workhorses and the pass catching role will be taken over by Kamara. Eventually, Kamara will take over full-time as the 3 down back.
