I honestly think you get on this forum sometimes to either:

1. Try to sound like you know more than everyone else by using poor logic or just throwing things out there to sound...idk...cool or something. When it actually makes you sound like you have absolutely no idea of what you're talking about.

Or

2. To piss people off because you enjoy the attention. I don't think you're a troll. I just think...you're some guy that has no idea who he's talking to.

I don't know if you've figured this out yet so I'll clue you in. A lot of the "fans" on this forum have not only been following this team for literally decades. But they also know a metric **** ton about this team, the players (past and present), the coaching staff (past and present), the offensive and defensive schemes and the stats of all of the above.

In other words, when you want to make a point, please remember that a lot of us really actually know a lot about this team. We're not "casual fans". So saying something as weird as "Ivory is better than Ingram" sounds like you know very little about either player. Even some people here who don't really like Ingram probably think that's a very bias comment that has no factual basis at all.

There was the 2012 first round pick was the other half of the package...

Now I'm not speaking for every fan, but, for me, that's too much draft capital, especially when I didn't like the pick. Why?

Fifth, in what dimension will Sean Payton pound the rock 30 Att/game with Drew Brees as his QB?

Now, until Ingram's extension he was a disappointment of 3 yards and a cloud of dust with missed big play opportunities, conversions...

Despite this, I favored retaining him after the investment in developing him and RB market conditions with a lack of options...

Maybe he's a slow-learner, but somehow he's become a very complementary RB to Payton's offense...

...and his loss would bear strain on what the Saints are trying to do offensively not having an honest RB option...

I'm glad we have him, now. But you'll never hear me say poor Mark as he's been compensated and overly invested...
The past is over and done with. That draft is long since over. I think you have to put any aspects of how he was drafted aside when you are judging a players stats. He can't help how or where he was drafted, the point is I think he's a very good back in this league and the stats mentioned in the article show that.

You complain that Ingram has rarely played 16 games, yet you would rather have Chris Ivory than Ingram....

Ivory played 1 and a half games and would miss 5-6 games with hamstring issues.

Ingram is perfect for our system.

You've got some seriously misguided logic man. I just don't understand.
He played with the freaking jaguars. What did you expect? he was on a crap offense that tried to be run first with him being backup to a RB that was not better. The OC got fired midseason. What about what he did with the jets? What about the monster run against Atlanta? Against that kind of competition Ingram has never done that. He did well with us because he was not getting eight in the box.

I didn't say switch out Ingram for Ivory. When healthy, Ivory had the burst Ingram doesn't. Point I was making is among our recent backs, Ivory ran better with us when healthy than Ingram did. I mean Ivory could run for 50 yards more than Ingram could. Point to that SF game but every RB gashed SF last year. Ivory excelled in Gailey's system and then Powell started cutting in his carries. Ivory has not been as injured also since leaving us and Ingram's also had a injury history.

This fanbase has a taste for mediocrity because Brees makes it better. All I know is Brees got exposed as a 4th place qb behind the other three in this era and that cannot be changed. All that needed to happen was a offensive line that sat on its hands.

What do you think Jnorm? Even if he does, he totally ignores the importance of a RB which is to get those few yards when needed. A thirty plus run is strictly gravy. And yes, every RB does much better when there aren't eight stacked in the box.

AP can break a 8 man stack. It's been said that a team with a good pass rusher that puts 8 in the box can stop the saints several years back. It's not coincidental that the saints have struggled against elite pass rushers. The fact Ingram could not beat 8 in the box shows he is not an elite RB. And people saying he would be as good as DJ, Bell, McCoy, Elliott if he had their carries need to sit down. I have seen those RBs run over good run defenses, including Elliott's much better game against Detroit. A RB on a team with Brees to worry about should not have those problems. That was the way it was in the past. If our RBs are not able to sneak up on teams then as I said teams figured out Brees.

Ingram was not on my fantasy team last year. It has nothing to do with that it has to do with his hot and coldness.
