Totally fu$$ed this team up when he let Caroll get in his head in 2014. And now this entire fanbase is pointing to as many flaws as possible.

Screwed our defenses with his crap trying to be like Seattle.

Completely neglected the oline position.

The fans are divided and I'm not sure where I stand because of this loon on the sideline.

Divided is much too much...3 straight below .500 seasons and it will cause plenty of griping, whining, & second-guessing plus everyone has 20/20 hindsight. But we all just want what's best for this team. On here, there are many many differing views on exactly what those things are....this is kinda like Saints counseling sessions.

And still, if we went 19-0 for 4 straight years there would still be people complaining...like we had too many close wins and shanked the Vegas spread each time...or we didn't get the right 6th round draft pick...or we should have training camp in Australia.

We have different opinions...we're human (I think?) & it's a free country.

Will....why are you posting this? I mean why now? Last season was over months ago. You're literally just posting things to make people argue with you or to get some kind of attention.

I'm not going to argue. I'm not going to agree. I shouldn't even reply to this. But I'm intrigued because almost daily you start or comment on a thread with something that is either completely out of context, something that makes absolutely no sense or is completely irrelevant.

I posted this because of the Ingram crap which is just another example of so much division on the forum. I mean if I ever saw Asylum I would kick his a$$ that's how much I hate that poster. He instigated this to begin with.

Three straight 7-9 seasons and it started with that offseason. We have different views of how we see the offense. People calling people haters because they have a different opinion of Ingram. People wanting to constantly defend offensive statistics to stake their claim on the defense needing fixed and bash those that think offense could be better. The fighting at this magnitude would not be happening if the saints were simply winning. However, I do believe some things cannot be repaired among the fanbase. Some things have gone too far.

Payton did not model our offense after Seattle's so he must not have been as obsessed as you propose. There is a term that has been used in the NFL for a long time, before Payton was a HC, "copy cat league." If your defense stinks you look at defenses that do not stink and try to model them to succeed. That's not obsessing, that's being wise. Rob Ryan was the one who took the 4th ranked D and decided to "get funky" with it and it blew up in his face.

Um, no. he basically started the arguing and then it got much worse involving other posters. It started last year with the Fairley delay. And I don't recall our defense being bad in 2013. Our oline in road games and Payton's clock management against NE cost us a first round bye.

Jenkins, Smith, Harper, Shanle, Greer.....am I missing anyone else? Our 14 defense would not have been what it was had those players not left, especially Shanle, Jenkins, and Smith. Further, we let TWO safeties go that season.

Our D was still playing fine after he got hurt. The offense struggled against the jets, rams, and seahawks and I think those games like the games of recency makes the defense look worse than the offense. How else did we win 38-17 against Dallas, 23-20 against a strong SF team(or 20-17?), 17-14 in Atlanta, forgot Carolina score but it was a blow out, we even lost 14-10 to Carolina in Carolina. All those games were held 20 points or less. Our defense gets blamed for the offense's ineffectiveness against St.Louis and Seattle? Brees was a turnover machine against the rams.

I guess allowing 24 points to the red hot eagles who was scoring much more than that was bad defense too.

Payton has made many moves to fix the O line. People are just so focused on defense they don't notice. I can't even remember the last time we signed an offensive lineman and people didn't gripe "but we need defense"

Will, what response or responses are you after here in your posts? Can we at least get to training camp before you start with all of the doom and gloom? How about posting something about our new rookie draft class (it appears to be a good one), expectations for the season, newly hired positional coaches etc? You often talk about players/and or former coaches who can't help us (retired, cut or out of football) but instead a lot of "what if" scenarios which are meaningless. This isn't Fantasy Football :rolleyes:.

Do yourself a favor and stop looking in the rear view mirror.

Payton's offensive philosophy was copied by nearly every team after we won the SB. Before Brees and Payton the leagues philosophy was feed your best player. Now, it's spread the ball around.
